Indeed. Well, Ghostbusters: The Video Game is confirmed to occur in that universe and does reference Freddy vs Ghostbusters, making it official, though that game also occurs in the main universe of the Sanctum of Slime reality, so Ed Spengler exists in all three - Dimension Prime, Dimension 50-S and Dimension 68-F.

But what makes them not in the same universe though?
Dimension Prime = Main universe
Dimension 68-F ≠ Dimension Prime

Therefore, since the fanfiction is not set in Dimension Prime, it's not the same universe. Even though The Video Game referenced them. It's no different to Sanctum of Slime being a sequel to Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Ghostbusters: Times Square! has no reason to not be canon to the main reality - the wiki just assumes it's not due to the lack of a connection and it's origins. It was supposed to be a prequel to the video game until references were cut, so October 1991. The manga could be canon too since it's set in the 1990s post-Ghostbusters II. We'll say before The Other Side.

Ghostbusters: Legion, unfortunately, is set in a world where Ghostbusters occurred in 2004. That would place it in a unique reality.

The X-Files: Conspiracy could be set in Dimension 50-S, since it's only a few years after Sanctum of Slime and the Ghostbusters barely aged in that reality, or as a continuation of Ghostbusters: Legion. In any case, I'd probably put it in a miscellaneous section on it's own as "X-Files Universe".

Funny that he haunts a golf course in Ghostbusters 101 #2 since he is shown to have placed golf in Scrooged and even had a golf ball come out of his skull.

I was 10 when Scrooged came out. My family did not see it until it was a 2nd run budget theater. But I wanted to see Cocoon : The Return instead. But my parents won of course. I probably did not know "the guy from Ghostbusters" was in it. But there he was with ghosts again. Plus like all versions of A Christmas Carol it's a time travel story. I loved it. I think it's the moment I became Bill Murray fan. Before that he was Peter Venkman. Took seeing him in other role to start to see him as an actor.

That's so cool! It also makes sense in the Ghostbusters universe, since A Christmas Carol is adapted in the animated series and comics. Scrooged is a modern retelling of A Christmas Carol with completely new characters, Answer The Call is a modern retelling of Ghostbusters with completely new characters, so the connection fits.

The two golfers might look familiar if you've seen Caddyshack... (Found it via someone posting it on Something Awful's comics forum and apologies if posted before!)
It's actually not just the two golfers though. Every single character in the first two pages who aren't a Ghostbuster or Lew is someone from Caddyshack.

Danny Noonan
Dr. Beeper
Fred Pickering
Judge Smails
Sandy McFiddish
Lou Loomis ("Ern", apparently)

They're playing golf at the Stryker Beach Golf Course, which appears to be the Bushwood Country Club golf course from Caddyshack. Despite claims online, there's no evidence that the film takes place in Nebraska besides a statement of a character possibly going off to college there, meaning that the setting really could be Brooklyn. That, of course, means that there'd be 36 years that passed between events, which is questionable with the ages.

Peter Parker is alluded to along with some version of the events of Grimm (timeline-wize, obviously doesn't fit). I guess a version of One More Day might be canon.

Okay, actually, this video broke down the Casper timeline way better than I did, I'll admit. It works better with the comics too, Ray's solo adventure was earlier in the month.

The Casper film has apparently other 3 direct to video sequels/prequels though I am not sure if they have some level of continuity or they are alternate universes
Also connects with the Transformers Multiverse and a Lego version of the first 2 movies universe and the 2016 reboot universe exist in the LEGO Multiverse of LEGO Dimensions (where the universes of Lego Batman (Video Game), Lego Batman (Movie) and The Lego Movie are also present)
OK, I read the casper wiki article on them and I also see why they can't be the same universe. But today I found out that there was also a animated show sequel of the film with the girl and her father from it: https://casper.fandom.com/wiki/The_Spooktacular_New_Adventures_of_Casper
I would remove the video game from the current timeline. It contradicts some elements that are in Afterlife. Spirits Unleashed might also technically be canon, but I doubt it will be mentioned in Afterlife, as that film will probably be about setting up the firehouse and re-establishing the Ghostbusters in NYC.
For the afterlife movie there's no timestamps for these.

I love how analytical and thorough you are with the timelines. Your knowledge is astounding and one of the main reasons I did the M:I Timeline.
Shouldn't this have 2024 in between (), cos the comics Will come out well... in 2024?
Also Will you ever do a timeline of the IDW comics and reboot expanded universe?
Could you guys remove these comments so the thread is a bit more neat and tidy and I don't have to start a new one? Perhaps @Blackbeard could? :)

Sooooo, is this the same universe where Momo and Okarun from DANDADAN got their hands on Proton Packs? XD

Since I mentioned What's your Story in the Scream thread I might as well go over the Ghostbusters one. It's about a new group of Ghostbusters, the Washington D.C. Ghostbusters, they mention they styled themselves after the Ghostbusters from New York, since they only mention New York and not the several other Ghostbusters franchise locations established in stuff like the comics and video games, I feel the Ghostbusters What's Your Story occurs in the Ghostbusters 2016 reality. This is possible since it released around that era of the franchise. Iirc the Ghost Corps production group wanted to create a full cinematic/expanded universe based on that version so maybe this was a small part of that as a tie in

That seems possible. What about I Know What You Did Last Summer?

I haven't checked that one yet, I'd assume it's probably a tie in with the TV series as well? I'm not sure if that story even has any YouTube playthroughs available to watch

It was added as early as 2018, so not a tie-in to the show. Also, that timeline would be easy, anyway.

1997 - I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
1998 - I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
2006 - I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer
2018 - What's Your Story? (I Know What You Did Last Summer)
2021 - I Know What You Did Last Summer 1x01-1x08
2025 - I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025)

It's really funny to me that this game exists and adds side stories to the most random franchises they could get their hands on. They got stuff like 21 Jump Street and Divergent too iirc
