While I agree, that's the scene I'm looking forward to the most now. David Tennant in that role is so perfect. I wonder if we'll get the Avengers, Rick Jones, and Captain America. The mutant could be an Inhuman easily. I'm assuming there'll be a lot of changes. So pumped!

I think that's a given, to some degree, just based on the characters chosen for the shows.

Daredevil is obviously going to be slightly darker and more serious in tone than the average MCU film, though I'm sure it'll also have occasional humor/interplay between Matt and Foggy. I'm sure that same approach will apply to the other shows as well.

Given the street level focus, it's essentially impossible to avoid that element of grittiness, nor should they. It wouldn't be Daredevil without that, and that's largely true for the other series as well.

Tennant as Purple Man is more excellent casting by Marvel. I absolutely can't wait to see AKA Jessica Jones now (I was admittedly pretty lukewarm about it before, but I'm fully onboard now).

EDIT: This was mostly just filling in the gaps between the end of The Avengers and The Winter Soldier but I rather enjoyed it. Always fun to have more added to the continuity. Between this, Agent Carter, Daredevil trailer, and Ant-Man Prelude it looks like it's Marvel week.

Phase 3 is truly going to be epic. The insanely awesome film line up, the various television shows, all culminating in Infinity War... God, I truly can't wait to see it all. And now Spidey will be there. Perfect. X-Men who?
 
This is the greatest Spider-Man media related news in such a long time! And there's an added movie to phase 3! If they can just very briefly go over the origin in a flashback that will be even better; supposing Spider-Man shows up in CA:CW.
 
The only way this could be better is if Marvel popped out a post credits scene for Age of Ultron that goes..

I don't get why people are so excited about this. Spider-Man has always been more of a loner, and I never liked that Bendis brought him onto the Avengers.

I also liked Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, so that kind of sucks.

Well, I'm excited because I have the exact opposite opinion. My favorite part of Spider-Man was he had his own solo stuff, but he also interacted with EVERYBODY. I LOVE him in the Avengers and Andrew Garfield was terrible.

I wondered why there was no July release in 2017. That's so amazing. And spectacular.

EDIT: Oh, never mind. Thor 3 used to be in the July 2017 slot. The July 2017 slot was the one that was (and still remains) empty. They just pushed a bunch of the movies back.

Yeah, I really liked Garfield and Stone in the ASM movies too, but ASM 2 was pretty awful. I'm just excited to see Marvel Studios have input into Spider-Man. They do really well with their movies, even the not so great ones. They obviously know how to make these movies well and they care about the characters and really do them justice. I don't necessarily want to see Spider-Man in all the Avengers movies, but I'm glad he's going to be in Civil War.

And most of all, this makes my dream of a Daredevil & Spidey team up movie a possibility. I want so badly to see them team up against Kingpin!

I'm psyched cuz I'm sick of bad Spider-Man movies. I'm happy to see the character in good hands again. It would be nice if they don't bother with rebooting the origin again. Just take what they liked and is usable out of the last 2 movies and forget the rest.

Just do what they did with the Spectacular Spider-Man show and pick up after he's been Spidey for a while. We all know the origin. Incredible Hulk did a pretty good job with that too. Hulk's origin was shown briefly in the opening credits and then that was good enough.

Yeah, that would be okay. I think if they want to take Spider-Man in a "different" direction, they should make him more street level and have him face off against organized crime (and super villains that are made/hired by them) like in Spectacular Spider-Man.

I don't know why but those were always my least favorite Spider-Man stories. Both in Ultimate and 616. I'd prefer Daredevil and Punisher for those (Omega Effect would be awesome) and Spider-Man going up against super powered bad guys. Mysterio is a must as is a proper Lizard. They should adapt The Gauntlet.

They've always been some of my favourites. Kingpin is such an awesome villain. And Hammerhead. And Tombstone. And Hobgoblin. And all the rest.

And especially for the MCU. Ground it in this street-level New York stuff that SHIELD and the Avengers won't be interested in (I guess SHIELD is gone now, but you know what I'm saying). Let him team up with DD and get told he's too young and stupid and over his head. Let him face off against Punisher and have to fight him AND the bad guys. Then build to the personal stuff. Build to Green Goblin turning his world upside down. Show how Oscorp is involved in shady stuff with the underworld for several movies and eventually get to a showdown with Green Goblin.

I need to stop now because I can talk about this all day.

Given the animosity between Marvel and Fox, I seriously doubt it. Ultimately, when the rights do revert, it likely won't be due to any deal struck but due to Fox giving up on the franchise. And reaction to the new F4 trailer has been pretty decent, so that may not be for a long while if the first film is financially successful enough to justify a sequel, or trilogy, or even more films beyond that.

Because it creates some fun dialogue and interactions between Spidey and the other MCU characters.

I liked Garfield as Peter too, but I have a feeling, based on Marvel's brilliant casting for almost all their roles, their influence on the casting process will result in the absolute best version of a live action Spider-Man yet.

Not to mention a superior approach to plot and characterization. As much as I liked Garfield in the role, ASM2 was pretty horrible.
