So there's speculation of either an MK movie or a new video game in the works.

You be the judge. Michael Jai White FTW!

Either way this was damn cool. Loved the re-imaging.

Re: The All-About Video Games thread

Please let that be for a new movie

Re: The All-About Video Games thread

It's apparently a pitch for a new film. I guess we'll hear more about it at E3 though.

New Mortal Kombat movie (watch the trailer just do it)

Apparently a trailer for a new MK movie leaked or something today and it looks awesome

apparently its more of a screen test kinda thing than anything, and even though it kinda ****s all over established canon it looks really reall cool

Michael Jai White as Jax? awesome

That was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen in relation to Mortal Kombat.

Mortal Kombat Rebirth

This guy is trying to convince the studios to give him the Mortal Kombat film franchise, and by god, I say let him have it...

The idea of a tournament of assassins and serial killers organized by this mysterious figure is really intriguing, and about 600 times better than if they tried to do a straight adaptation. It's a whole new take, and I would absolutely be on board for it.

Re: Mortal Kombat Rebirth

I agree. This is the smart way to do a video game movie. Take the conceits and premises that really make the game great and strip away the parts of continuity that won't work for translation.

Re: Mortal Kombat Rebirth

It looks more promising than most video game movies. But why kill Johnny Cage before the tournament even starts?

Re: Mortal Kombat Rebirth

i've read on some other message boards that a lot of people are pissed at this more realistic take and upset of the removal of the more mystic elements but i gotta say that i would be a lot more likely to see a movie based on the above than i would something like the original film. plus i always hated
johnny cage
so this clip made me happy.

Exactly my thoughts. The strength of Mortal Kombat is in the brutal fighting and the character designs, not in the story or setting. I could see them weaving in some sort of mysticism with the meager plot they established in the trailer and still make it work out fine though.
