So I spent time yesterday while not posting coming up with an actual plan to convince you to make a book forum: some dramatic and unignorable.
A Poetry Strike.
I would only post in haiku, sonnets, villanelle, limerick, etc., until we got our book forum. My opening salvo:
When random topics clog up all the Lounge
And one small thread is all the web I seek,
I find myself forced to search and scrounge
Through many threads that seem so dull and weak.
Comic Books are all-too-frequent teased
As being only for the dull and dim.
When my intellect is slighted I am cheesed!
To prove them wrong becomes my only whim.
I think a forum talking only of books
Won’t prove to all the world that we are smart
But if a newbie lurker comes and looks?
It may not change his world, but it would start!
Let’s level-up the level of our speech,
And make Ultimate Central a star to reach!
A forum for books
Is a goal worth fighting for:
Fighting for, in verse.
Strike for this forum!
Strike by speaking in poems
Abjuring all prose.
Poem Strike is Go!
Violate no forum rules!
Show support for books!
A poster on Ultimate Central
Started sounding something like a minstrel.
Some wished he would quit!
All took’d would it
Be a book forum for that was his wish, ya’ll!
Oh well. Glad I didn't have to do that for long.
