Transformers (cartoons)

And so, another chapter of Transformers comes to an end. (Until further notice.)

It wasn't as good as Beast Wars. But then, it never had to be. The important thing that Transformers Animated set out to do was reintroduce the Transformers to a new generation. And while it will probably be outshone by the Bay films in that respect, it did an excellent job and should be commended for it.

(And besides, the plot was a lot better then the Bay films.)

Sayanora, Transformers Animated.
And Prowl.
'Till all are one.

Transformers: Prime

According to the entertainment website, the screenwriters responsible for the Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be executive producers on the Transformers: Prime, the show debuting on Hasbro Inc. and Discovery Networks' The Hub in fall 2010.

The article also reports that the show will be "CG-animated." Whether the design follows the Transformers Armada, Energon, and Cybertron era or the Beast Wars, Beast Machines era (this reporter crosses his fingers for this version) was not specified.

The name of the show Prime was revealed by Jeffrey Combs on a post in his website, where he also revealed that he has been cast as Ratchet.

New CGI transformers cartoon? :D Nice!

This is a minor thing, but it's pretty awesome.

OK,, the Japanese dub of TFA began airing recently, and they saw fit to change the intro and theme song from this:

To this:

It's just so wonderfully crazy.

When I think Transformers on Discovery, I think a show centering around learning about machines.

Which is a bit creepy considering it would likely involve an exploration of Transformers anatomy.
