Re: Ultimate Armor Wars
Post of the Day
I'm not familiar enough with the original story to know what an Ultimate version might entail but I'm just glad to see Warren Ellis having a hand in whatever this new version of the UU is.
The solit:
ULTIMATE COMICS ARMOR WARS #1 (of 4)
Written by WARREN ELLIS
Penciled by STEVE KURTH
Cover by BRANDON PETERSON
Villain Variant by CARLOS PACHECO
Special Variant by TBA
Exploding from the ruins of ULTIMATUM, Tony Stark races against time to save his crippled corporation and stop the theft of his armored arsenal! Superstar writer WARREN ELLIS (ULTIMATE HUMAN) teams up with rising talent STEVE KURTH (IRON MAN) to bring you a globe-spanning, high-octane thriller with a blast from Tony's past that you've gotta see to believe!
32 PGS./Rated T+ ...$3.99
Of course at $3.99 there is no way I'm paying for this.
I don't know why Marvel raised its prices like ths, in these tough times, a luxuary item like comics is the first to go, I would rather rent DVDs then buy comics. I will wait till the trade paper backs come out in the library. Of course I might buy this, minis are the only thing I would buy nowadays, I don't want to spend money on a series that wil never end.
I never read the original mini series, but I did see the cartoon version, which is likely on youtube and was fairly close to the mini (with some changes to fit TV of course.)
Its an interesting idea, Stark's tech being stolen and used by armored super vilains and even heroes and Stark using more drastic tactics to prevent others from using his tech. Tony gets into a fight Cap over in the 616 universe in this mini, in a certain way its prequel to Civil war.
If Millar is willing to share Greg Stark, perhaps he can be the villain for this series.
Hey we might get to see Ultimate Stilt-Man, finally.
