You are all just obstacles on my path to Nirvana.
Hey all. I'm a big comic fan (obviously), and have been collecting a game called Heroclix for several years (I'm sure many of you have at least seen or heard of this game at your local comic store). The game is made by a company called Wiz Kids Games, they also make Mage Knight, Mechwarrior, Sportsclix, etc. Anyway, in the past few sets, many Ultimate character have been represented in clix form. As a matter of fact, the set before the last was called "Ultimates" and was mostly aimed at making Ultimate versions of classic 616 characters (which had already been made in their 616 versions in earlier sets)! So far, Ultimate versions of each of the following characters have been made into clix (the name in parentheses next to each character is the set it was released with):

Captain America (Ultimates)
Iron Man (Ultimates)
Thor (Ultimates)
Hulk (Ultimates)
Giant Man (Mutant Mayhem)
Black Widow (Ultimates)
Hawkeye (Ultimates)
Sentinel Trooper (Ultimates)
Wolverine (Ultimates)
Cyclops (Ultimates)
Marvel Girl (Ultimates)
Beast (Ultimates)
Storm (Ultimates)
Magneto (Ultimates)
Sabretooth (Ultimates)
Spider-Man (Ultimates)
Blade (Mutant Mayhem)
Green Goblin (Xplosion)
Doctor Octopus (Ultimates)
Rhino (Critical Mass)
Electro (Ultimates)

...and news just released yesterday on the next Marvel set, called "Fantastic Forces", revealed we'll be seeing the Ultimate Fantastic Four in clix form and offered previews of both Ultimate Thing and Ultimate Doom (the set is scheduled to be released in July, obviously to tie in with the upcoming FF movie being released this summer). The sculpts of each are awesome, and the game is a lot of fun. Also rumored to be released in the next set, as far as Ultimate characters go, is possibly Nick Fury, Wasp, and Quicksilver to round out the Ultimates team, and obviously Ultimate versions of Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl, and Human Torch will also be included.
A great resource for learning more about this game is www.hcrealms.com and www.wizkidsgames.com (both sites have the previews for the upcoming sets on their front page); there are MANY more 616 versions of characters in the game, and there are both different Marvel and DC sets available. And the coolest thing of all...last year a con exclusive was a scaled Galactus (most of the regular pieces are only about a quarter to half inch tall, and Galactus is a little over a foot tall!!), and this years con exclusive is a Dark Phoenix (beautiful sculpt by the way). I was lucky enough to pick up a BIG G through ebay, but had to pay an arm and a leg to do so due to the rarity and strong gameplay statistics of the figure.
If you're a fan of comics, you should really check this out. All you clix fans post your opinions!!!

It's amazing how when I came here, I asked some people about it and they were like: "What?". I don't play them but I tried to et into them. I couldn't find any so I moved onto Games Workshop miniatures...

I don't play HeroClix or whatever the correct terminology is, but if they made a Sentry figure I'd be all over that.

I was a Judge, but we could never get enough people going to keep the game in stock at the shop. :(

You and me both! :D

Also, I've heard there was a Carnage one. S'that true?

You guys live in the back woods of Arkansas or something?

I play Hero Clix all the time. Weekly tournaments, sometimes 2 tournaments a week. We usually have a about 12-16 guys and teenagers and a a couple pre-teens at every tournament. Let me share a couple of competitive mixed Marvel/DC/Indy teams I have:

My best team is a 400 point bruiser featuring Ultimate Thor (OF COURSE!) at 186 points, rookie Jean Grey (31 points), rookie Deathstroke (40 pts), rookie Deadpool (65 pts), experienced Raven (65 pts) and a veteran Paramedic (12). 399 points of fury. Talk about DC/Marvel Crossover from hell. lol.

I also have a 400 point wild card Spiderman theme team featuring: Veteran Ultimate Spiderman (58 pts- Team Spiderman Wild card team ability), Ultimate Peter Parker (71 pts- Team Spiderman Wild card team ability), Mary-Jane Watson Parker (5 pts - Team Spiderman Wild card team ability), Ultimate Iron Man (A steal at 144 pts), rookie Cosmic Boy (45 pts Legion of Superheros Wild Card), Alfred (6 pts - has Batman Team ability for wild cards - gives wild cards stealth super power), Jarvis (5 pts - Avengers team ability gives free moves to wild cards), Alicia Masters (5 pts - Fantastic Four team ability- all wild cards heal one click if another member with this team abiltiy is knocked out.), rookie Intergang -medic (20 pts - all the spiderman based guys have the wild card team ability. Inter-gang medics have the Anti-Superman team ability. When 2 members of this team are adjacent, the one with the higher point copst gains the outwit superpower. It's a very powerful super power if you know the game. - the jsutification of them on the team). Both Ultimate Spiderman and Ultimate Peter Parker have the Pounce feat card, an additional 15 points each (it allows them move and attack someone) for a total of 399. Another slambang DC/Marvel team up.

I'm a pretty decent player. I win some and lose a lot, lol. There;s always the fellowship prize.

I don't understand the support troubles you all mentioned. Hero Clix is the number 2 collectable game in the coutry now, behind Yu Gi Oh (lol) and before the Versus (Vs.) system Marvel & DC super heros card games.

Any of you guys up above that don't have anyone to play with and want to unload their stock on me let me know, lol.

Peace!

They just did a few months ago. Probably close to cost. I was so frigging disapointed.

Edit: Oh, and PA - Pittsburg on one side, Phillidelphia on the other, Kentucky in the middle. Good to remember that as there seem to be a decent amount of Pennslyvanians about the board.

UltimateE and Icemasertron, its rumored that Sentry will make an appearance in the upcoming Fantastic Forces set...and yes, Carnage was made into a clix in last years Ultimates set.

Heroclix is great for anyone into gaming or comic books. I'm a collector, only tried playing the game once or twice, but I collect just about every Marvel clix out there.

Inside info.

Well, Sentry is in Fantastic Forces.

The new set will also have the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider which makes me very happy.

Ultimate Carnage sucks and isn't very uselful in organized tournament play due to his cost. But for a neat figure to use in a "friendly" game he's cool.

Set comes out in July.

Peace!

Technically, he's only rumored to be included, so better not to assume anything. There are six figures we KNOW for sure will be in this set:

Doom (Ultimate)
Thing (Ultimate)
Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze)
Scarlet Witch
Yellowjacket
Namor

Of course, we can safely assume we'll also see the rest of the Ultimate FF in this set. Hopefully Sentry will come out with this set.

First, you've got an impressive collection. You could be very competitive in tournament play.

Second, I stand corrected, you are right that Sentry is only rumored. I got my info from my Hero Clix dealer (makes it sound like an addiction, don't it.).

Well, I got my Convention Exclusive LE Nova today. She is SWWWEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTT.

We're having a 400 point one team affiliation tournament at our venue next month. I'm playing Nova & Silver Surfer (both with The Power Cosmic Team Ability, of course. - that's the little Galactus head on your Galactus' dial). He he heh. It means they can keep taking turns without taking pushing damage and they are immune to outwit and exploit weakness super-powers.

Dark Phoenix is only going for $30.00 at the conventions. That's way cool. It's selling on Ebay in the $125-$250 range.

One of my buddies went to Wizworld LA last weekend. I'm poh with a teenager so I can only afford to go to Philidelphia and Boston. The Kuberts will be in Philly, I know that (Ult FF & Ult Iron Man).

The first weekend of April we're playing in a 600 point tournament. My Buddy is playing Dark Phoenix on her 600 point dial, I'm playing my Galactus on his 600 point dial. Our hope is that no one can beat us and we will end up playing against each other for the win, lol. It'll be a first, lol.

Irish - if I can get 2 Phoenixes in Philly I could work a trade out with you, she is beautiful. Check her out on the Wiz Kids website. I don't believe in buying or selling game pieces for cash, I'm in it for the sport.

PEACE!

Leather, if you could swing that I'd be indebted to you forever dude. I was just going to buy Dark Phoenix off Ebay, but didn't want to have to pay the 400% markup. Let me know how that matchup (assuming it happens, but with his DP and your Big G it most likely will) works out, should be interesting, though the dials may still be in Galactus's favof a little, but with some lucky rolls on your part you may be able to take him. Anyway, I appreciate the offer on the DP and would definitly be down, PM me if you want. Thanks again.

Big news in the world of Heroclix. A number of new figures have been confirmed for the next Marvel set, Fantastic Forces:

Namor (REV?)
Scarlet Witch (REV?)
Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze) (double base) (REV)
Yellowjacket (Henry Pym) (Giant Size) (REV)
Goliath/Atlas (Giant)
Spiderman 2099 (unique)
Green Goblin (REV) (Norman Osborne LE)
Iron Fist (REV and Unique)

and the following Ultimate versions are being released in this set:

Mr. Fantastic (Ultimates) (AE - Dr. Doom?)
Invisible Girl (Ultimates)
Human Torch (Ultimates)
Thing (Ultimate) (REV?)
Dr. Doom (Ultimate) (AE - Mr. Fantastic?)
Nightcrawler (Ultimate) (REV)

I'll post as more info is released!

Good news for Sentry fans! It looks more and more likely that the Sentry will show up as a high-costed unique in Fantastic Forces. Lot of cool figures are showing up in this set. It was also revealed yesterday that Lockjaw, the Inhumans' dog, will be one of the double-base REV transporters in FF. This means we're also likely to see Black Bolt show up in this set, and possibly a few other Inhumans. And for all you Ultimate fans...we're finally getting an Ultimate Nick Fury (along with Ultimate versions of Nightcrawler and the FF/Doom!!!) We also may be getting Spider-Woman and War Machine. Fantastic Forces is really looking nice.
