X-Men Cinematic Universe - Timeline (Revised & Original)

New Mutants is in the definitely in the X-Men universe now due to some references (which I won't spoil) to Logan and Apocalypse.
Any idea on when it's set ? I know reviews haven't been great, but I'm looking forward to checking it out next week.

2020s, I think. The way it connects to Logan is based on a specific scene. (And no, it's not any event from 2029.)

Since mutants stopped being born in 2004, you can pinpoint the latest year it can take place, assuming they're natural born. For example, if the youngest character is 14, then 2018, if they're 16, 2020.

If their connection to Logan suggests it's close in time period, you can place at the latest date.

I forgot about that. That also points to The Gifted taking place in the DoFP timeline because I recall an episode early in Season 1 where the father ends up in a transport truck for mutants being tracked by Sentinel Services - and there's a young girl mutant who is at least 6 in that transport vehicle.

If we're basing it on comic ages, the youngest would be 13 (Wolfsbane.)

So I guess it's 2017 and that reference in Logan
which I'll just say is the Transigen footage
got retconned to a much earlier point in the timeline.

That works, actually. It was filmed in July-September 2017.

The children in 2023 were likely human, as Xavier said that he wanted to open the school to everyone.

The thing that bothers me about The Gifted is how pointless it was a show. While it was basically the bridging point between The Wolverine and Days of Future Past, it also only accomplished showing how crappy humanity was to mutants.

I mean, it's supposedly in the DoFP timeline so there is no hope. And Eclipse and Polaris had a kid named "Hope"...
Unless that series finale's ending somehow caused that timeline to split from that point because of something Blink did, now not leading to DoFP, (or they all dimension-hopped to the MCU lol) then I don't see what worth the show had.

I feel similarly with New Mutants. It's over for this universe, there's no future for these characters. Unless, again, we get these characters somehow dimension-hopping to Earth-199999 with Mister Sinister following them (leaving Essex Corp behind for it to become Transigen in the X-verse), then I don't see how I can be invested.

Assuming that the 05.22.14 date is actually a date, we can ignore the 14 as an attempt to set the film in the near future and take it as 2004. Now, we have:

Well, assuming that they really are in Earth-10005, based on Marvel comics logic, their timeline wasn't really erased. Wolverine just created a divergent timeline from 1973 onwards. Pahaps the show could have gone passed 2023, Blink being dead now, and waged a war on mastermold, winning in both creating a happier world and in their original reality. Alternatively, they could have somehow convinced humanity to accept mutants, who shut down the sentinel program, making Days of Future Past redundant.

Most likely just died, though. :p
Maybe if the show had the next 2 seasons to spell X-Men we could have got something.

1-X
2-M
3-E?
4-N?

We can assume the same for Deadpool. Cable created a new timeline to get his family back, then created a timeline that Wade survives, then Wade creates a whole mess of alternate realities before presumably bringing Venessa to his original timeline. That's my way of explaining that mess, anyway.

Sooo explain to me how Deadpool 2 already exists in a separate timeline from frame 1 to before the post-credits scenes?

This is before he does any time travel.
Those "official" reality numbers. Ultimate Avengers 2 is literally a separate universe from the first film because of those darn things.

Gonna have to think on that. Ignore that they don't include Logan or The New Mutants as apart of the Revised Timeline. That's just head-canon wiki running rampant.

Okay:
Cable Timeline:
Wade dies Timeline:

Deadpool 2 Timeline:
Vanessa Timeline:
Peter Timeline:

Weapon XI Timeline:
Ryan Reynolds Timeline:

Adolf Hitler Timeline:

According to this, the Venessa lives timeline is the X-Verse. No official designation, however.

Also, at some point I need to work on the Legion timeline again....there's so much flashbacks and stuff in every episode that it gets tiring to time stamp each one.

I'm also still intent on keeping Deadpool separate because Bob Iger did promise that Deadpool would be integrated somehow in the MCU; but they're still working out a plan how that will even work....

That doesn't necessarily mean it couldn't tie to both, either being canonical to both worlds or having crossed universes, but I understand the thinking.

Going to be a while before that plays out, unfortunately.

Where do these official Earth designations come from? I can't find any citations.

I mean, where is the citation that tells you where the actual number "Earth-41633" comes from? Is it from a Marvel handbook? Or is it just the wiki's "official" numbering system that has no connection to Marvel?

That is the only one with an official number, apparently.

But how is it official? Where does the number come from? It seems weird that a fan would make up a number (especially since the wiki seems to have a TRN system for doing that where no official numbers exist already), but there's no evidence to the contrary. If it's official, it should exist in a comic or a handbook or the Blu-Ray commentary or somewhere.

It's in a handbook, presumably.

Given the utter lack of evidence, it's probably something a wiki user made up. I wouldn't consider it binding in any way.
