Hey all, didnt see a thread specifically for the 360... so I decided to make one! What do you all think of it? How many of you have it?
Honestly, I wasnt gonna get one for quite some time, I really didnt care to spend at least 500 for a system and some games. But then my foolish friends who buy things they cannot afford (and in this case it happened to be the XBOX 360) called and told me they were in quite a bind and needed to sell it ASAP. They had the premium edition and 3 games.... and I got the entire set for $150.00 :) :) Sooo, this was like 2 months ago, and i have rather greatly expanded since then. This is what I have:

HARDWARE:
XBOX 360 PREMIUM EDITION
2 WIRELESS XBOX 360 CONTROLLERS
STEERING WHEEL AND FOOT PEDALS (THANK YOU KIM FOR XMAS!!)
HD-DVD PLAYER
REMOTE CONTROL for the dvd player

GAMES:
1. CALL OF DUTY 3
2. NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED
3. OBLIVION: ELDER SCROLLS 3
4. CONDEMNED
5. PREY
6. CARS
7. SONIC THE HEDGEHOG
8. VIVA PINATA
9. MARVEL: ULTIMATE ALLIANCE
10. DEAD RISING
11. TOM CLANCY: RAINBOW SIX VEGAS
12. TOM CLANCY: SPLINTER CELL DOUBLE AGENT
13. GEARS OF WAR

I got some for x-mas, so I havent got to play them all yet, and 6-8 were for my son, sonic the hedgehog looks AMAZING, and viva pinata was wicked fun.
Sooo, what games do you guys have?

i had more but i tend to trade them in

hardware i got = Hard drive , 2 wireless pads , 1 wired pad , wireless internet adapter and a england flag (white with red cross) face plate. plus the headset but i think that's in both premier and core packs
 
Oh, when I lived in my old apartment (just got a house) I also invested in the Ear Force X2 headset. Its HUGE, has to plug into the wall to get enough power, and ROCKS! It does simulated surround sound, and if you cant afford/dont have the space for the real deal, this is the CLOSEST you will get. And even if you have one, its nice to have so you dont wake up the missus
 
Sounds cool I might look in to getting me one.
 
I was just thinking the other day how there's a PS3 thread and a Wii thread but no XBox 360 thread. Heh.

I have one. The bigger model with the 20 GB hard drive (which isn't enough, but oh well). I have an extra wireless controller.

Games: right now I have Madden 2007, NBA 2k7, Tiger Woods 2007, and Ultimate Alliance. I also have XBox games Lego Star Wars and BattleFront 2, as well as all 3 Burger King games.

My gamertag is "smackbomb" but I don't have a Gold membership. I have a 3 month card but haven't activated it yet.

I just downloaded demos of Need for Speed Carbon and Dead Rising. I didn't care for NfS:C but Dead Rising seemed fun. I have gift cards that I got for Christmas and want to get a game but can't decide what to get.

I love the ability to download demos and try games out, but I'm pretty pissed that you have to have a Gold membership to get roster updates on sporting games. That's idiotic. But EA is a bunch of crooks anyway, so what can ya do.
 
I have one. No life yet and I only have Dead Or Alive 4, Kameco. and Ultimate Alliance. Oh and my brother got me Sneak King for Christmas.

I'm not a fan of the doa games. One of the few fighting games I don't like. Tekken , street fighter , DBZ , Mortal kombat , soul caliber and more are great games yet the mole don't dig doa no idea why

So I've been thinking about getting a 360. Thing is I'm a little worried that it will break. I've heard alot of stories about scratched discs and whatnot, is this a common problem or just the PS3 fanboy rumor mill going wild? My buddy won't set his up in the verticle position because he says it ruins the discs. Anybody had this problem?

Another thing I'm not to sure about is which system to buy. You need the HD to play Xbox games right? I haven't played Halo or Halo 2 so the HD is a must if that's the case. I saw that E said that the 20gb hard drive wasn't enough so should I wait and get the Elite when it comes out this month? The HDMI port and bigger HD would be nice but I don't know if I need it.

I don't know if I want to buy the two higher priced systems because I'm not planning on playing it as much as my Wii or PS3. Would it be more cost effective to just buy the core system and add buy the hard drive seperatly?

I guess I could figure this out on my own but If anyone has suggestions it would help me sort this out.

1) No most problems are caused by idiots. My friends and me (until it fell off a table) had 360's and they had no problems neither did I


2) you don't NEED hd for 360 but it does make it better. Don't wait get the one with 20gb hard drive. Unless your planing on putting on 1000s of sons it's enough

So your calling my friend an idiot? Real nice, Mole real nice.:lol:

I'm not extremly worried about it breaking because I'll get a warranty but it would be a hassle to deal with.

How does the HD make it better exactly? I heard that you need the HD for it to be backwords compatible, so that's untrue?

I wasn't calling him an idiot :lol: but most people who get problems are because they misuse the console


HD makes graphics better


you need Live for backwards compatible to download updates to play some games
