Are Morrison/Kubert and Dini/Williams/whoever BOTh takings breaks from their books? How long? Has there been a reason? What's the story?

To insure that Batman runs monthly, Didio popped in the short "Grotesk" storyline... Its just giving Morrison and Kubert the ability to stay monthly without tremendous delays.

As far as I know, aside from last month's issue, Dini is focused on Detective Comics... Williams I think is just going to pick up as soon as he can.

So it's just because both creative teams aren't able to write a monthly book?

I know DC is screwy with their TPB system, but have they said how it will be affected for these books?

Considering Morrison's workload, I wouldn't blame the guy. When it comes down to Dini, I think they were looking to give this new writer a spin, so they just slid his story in there. I don't think it was an issue of Dini not being able to keep up to pace.

The Grotesk story is going to be a four-parter with two issues released a month, so Morrison should be back onboard after two months.

I'd guess Grotesk is one of those storylines that's going to get lost in the TPB collections, although I wouldn't be surprised if they slipped that extra one-shot into a TPB with Dini's stories.

What's going on with Detective Comics? I thought Dini was still on, but Williams III wasn't able to draw the rest of it because he had to do Seven Soldiers #1. I'm guessing he's catching up by doing some of the remaining issues, hopefully.

Yeah... I think they slipped the extra guy in there to give Williams the chance to catch up...

I hope Dini stays with the comics industry for the next long while now... He's fit fantastically into the series. I only wish that they had given him All-Star instead of Detective... but i am still happy with his one-shots.
