Newsarama reports new Spider-Man cartoon to air on Kids WB! on the CW, coming in 2008.

Another Marvel hero is returning to the animated frontier. The Kids WB announced it has struck a deal with producer Culver Entertainment to bring everyone's favorite webslinger back to Saturday mornings.

The series is tentatively titled The Amazing Spider-Man. Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, The Batman) is supervising producer, Victor Cook (Hellboy: Blood and Iron, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command) is producer/supervising director.

"The addition of Spider-Man bolsters a lineup that has proved to be the Saturday morning destination for kids seeking action and adventure in the most amped-up ways," Betsy McGowen, Kids WB SVP and General Manager said. "We're ecstatic to welcome Spider-Man to our popular cavalcade of super heroes."

Not excited about this at all

Everything is a reintrepretation these days, nothing new and original ever comes out.

I can't wait until humanity is rebooted.

This doesn't have Bruce Timm involved. Therefore, it's not worth it.

I just hope the animation and art style is great.

Does anyone else sorely miss the CGI cartoon we got right after Spidey 1 came out?:(

**** NO!!! That was a horrible show, the animation was okay, but voices were off, stories were stupid, and the dialogue was crap. It could have been SOOOO much better

God has already started an Ultimate God's Plan that he continues to publish alongside 616 God's Plan. In this new Ultimate line, the chosen race is... the emperor penguin.

And this universe, there's a man called Yourcusshion who resembles someone from 616 God's Plan, and he's a total oppossite!

I do. I enjoyed it.

I see animated Marvel and I instant cringe. Just the thought of this being another Fantastic 4 or Ultimate Avengers makes me crawl into the fetal position and cry.

But I see CW and I wanna say that I have faith. But only because I sadly enjoy CW's "The Batman". While it will never recapture the awesomeness that was Timm's creation...Dini writes the episodes and I like to see the new takes on some of the characters.

I wanna say that I have faith....but I don't.

I have the entire season on DVD......but I don't miss it. The animation style was great because it captured how I imagine Spidey to move....the rest sadly fell short.

Agreed.

I do. I loved that cartoon. Also they mentioned a second season awhile ago but I guess instead they doing this.

Looking forward to this. There is not a spider-man cartoon made I've not loved. 90's was the best and I don't any other can come close to touching how Amazing it was.

I hope it does not follow movies or if it does only loosely so we can have the Halloween costumed goblin not mighty morphin green goblin. I will be curious as to how they make people look and how they introduce people but yeah this should be fun.

The Spectacular Spider-Man...

I manage to find a few things about Next years New Spider-Man cartoon on the WB or the CW. First the title The "Spectacular Spider-Man"...

Second the actor to do the voice of Peter Parker/Spider-Man is Josh Keaton.

And thirdly here are some pics.

Re: The Spectacular Spider-Man...

Hmmm, interesting.

Indeed. It would seem that Marvel is finally catching on and mirroring the show's look after DC's "The Batman".

And while "The Batman" will never touch the genius that is Timm's Batman, it has become a highly entertaining show in it's own right. Although me and Ourchair still aren't fans of the Tony Romano's voice work.

So yeah.....I'm definitely intrigued. Mostly for the fact that it looks like Spiderman will be properly animated by people who can do his movements and agility a service. I stand by my statement that MTV's Spiderman handled Spidey's grace beautifully. Too bad the rest of the show was slightly subpar. Anyhoo....I'm intrigued and will definitely tune into this.

*Shakes head in disgust*

And yes, although I've only watched the first season, it is highly entertaining, but how you can say that style for the faces and stuff is the right way to go...:noway:

You really should see the other seasons.

And I'm not saying that the faces are the best designs---but it' still better than that F4 cartoon.
