I have a dilemma.

I despise 90210. It embodies a lot of what I hated about the 90s.

On the other hand, Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell? Together again? AWESOME.

Decisions, decisions. . .

Where did it say that Kristen Bell was part of it?

There was a joke on The Soup a couple weeks ago when they announced this.

The joke said:
Why bring it back? It's already been done before. The show was called "One Tree on Laguna Smallville OC Beach" .......or something like that.

You all suck. 90210 is great.

End of story.

The spinoff will probably suck more than you do,

My Mom (yeah I know ) told me that she'd heard they were doing a reunion, but I can't find anything about that anywhere. That's what I want to see.

A spinoff would just be another in a long line of lame teen shows except this one would have a gimmick in that it's supposedly the same as the one that started it all.

...but 90210 is still great.

Easily one of my top-three shows ever and one of the reasons why the 90s rules over all.

Also, Sex and the City better than 90210? Nope.

I also like S&TC and I still agree with this.

The man's got a point.

3/4 of the discussions on these boards are about making jokes about how much stuff sucks. For example, not one person has given any example as to why they don't like this show except "No...No" and "horrible example of everything that was wrong the 90s". The whole reason I post on message boards like this one is to escape the idiotic, automatic put-downs of my interests like that and engage in interesting and thought-provoking discussions with like-minded people. If you don't always like what we're discussing, fine. Doesn't mean you have to crucify it for the sake of a few cheap laughs and the possible Post of the Day.

(I hold my hands up high, I'm guilty of the same crime. Doesn't change the point I'm trying to make).

I said I didn't like it neither for laughs nor for Post of the Day. I said I didn't like it. . .because I didn't like it. I came in here to say that (And then saw Rob Thomas and what I thought said Kristen Bell). Why? Because I don't think a 90210 spinoff is a good idea. I'm sorry, but my opinion is just as valid as yours. Welcome to the Internet.

Oh, and on an added note, why do I have to justify why I think the show was terrible? You haven't given one example why it's so great, so why should I justify myself?

On second thought - Mole is absolutely right.

Sort of.

Mole, you shouldn't expect everyone to like something that you post about. Saying you don't like something *is* discussion.

BUT -

That said, the cracks about Mole's tastes are off color and wrong. His liking Venom or whatever has nothing to do with anything and I don't want to see it mentioned again.

At least Mole has the balls to talk about what he likes.

Now, get back on topic - the 90210 spinoff. If you don't have anything meaningful to contribute, go away.

Sorry, Mole.

If that's all you have time to do, your wasting your time. Welcome to real life.

Surely the fact that you clicked on a thread about a TV show that you don't like and actually entered the thread and made a comment says something about just how much you dislike this show. I'm sure most people would find that far more interesting than whatever reason I happen to like it.

Additionally, as much as I like debating, there is absolutely no reason why people should be obliged to defend or argue their opinions. This isn't a debate society, and therefore this whole business about PROVING 90210 sucks or PROVING 90210 is cool is utter nonsense.

But isn't that the point of the internet anymore? To prove why the ****ty TV series you love is better than the ****ty TV series the other guy loves?

I'm 90210 neutral. I remember watching it when I was young but remember nothing about it.

I know not everyone will like something and that's cool. Also don't expect people to defend opinions. It was more of the other stuff.

That said getting back on topic.

Will Kelly returning meant to be played by Jennie Garth again I hope Dylan and Brenda come back played by Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty So we can more of their love triangle or at least proper closer as the fired Shannen and wrote Brenda out.

A lot of teen dramas have come since and besides Dawson's creek I have not liked any of them (God I miss the creek) So hopefully if this is done by the same people or at least written the same it'll be fun unlike the recent attempts like One Tree Hill or the oc which to me suck.

Now with it been a spin off I don't expect to see all the one's back but I'm hoping season 2-3 (so season 1 can establish the new guys) we do get like I mentioned Dylan and Brenda returning. That would be awesome as it is the perfect chance to finish that story properly. Plus Dylan was awesome admit it he was the fonz of 90210

Well, that's your opinion. I don't think I wasted my time at all.

Surely the fact that you clicked on a thread about a TV show that you don't like and actually entered the thread and made a comment says something about just how much you dislike this show. I'm sure most people would find that far more interesting than whatever reason I happen to like it.

Actually, I came in here to see if anyone actually wanted to see such a spin-off. People said yes and I wondered "Why? 90210 was terrible." So. . .no, I think you're wrong. This isn't a thread about 90210 anyways. It's a thread about a spin-off.

The only one I'd really like to see back is Luke Perry. He'd be an excellent mentor character to the younger kids, in the tradition of Gil Meyers, from the original show. Kelly/Dylan/Brenda, would be interesting, but I think it it may be best to leave that the way it ended, without the possibility of tarnishing it.

I occasionally dabbled in the Creek, but looking back on it now, it really is too preachy and wordy. None of the characters or relationships seem realistic.

So hopefully if this is done by the same people or at least written the same it'll be fun unlike the recent attempts like One Tree Hill or the oc which to me suck.

The O.C. was absolutely staggeringly brilliant for its first year, very good in its second, boring to the point of being unwatchable in its third year and so-bad-it-was-good in its final, fourth season. It never ceases to amaze me how bad it had gotten compared to its original season.

Ingredients for One Tree Hill:

- Emo Music.

- Basketball.

- Quotes from philosophers that have probably been used a thousand times before in other shows.

- An excuse to have all the characters locked in the same room so they can discuss each others' problems.

- Chad "God...I'm awesome. Everyone should love me." Michael Murray.

Result: Ratings-pulling idiot-fest!

Plus Dylan was awesome admit it he was the fonz of 90210

Don't insult Dylan by comparing him to Fonzie. He was far cooler than Fonzie.

Dylan and Brandon and the dynamic they had was what made 90210 a cut above all the other teen shows that came after it. They're really fascinating characters.
