Aren't they all going to different studios? It's the same mess that was going on in the 80's with the toy companies.

Avengers movie (News/Discussion)

Since the Avengers movie seems to be the works,
if you saw the end of iron Man, you would know there is a set up for an avengers movie, with the ultimate version of Nick Fury as the leader (so it would be government backed).

This brings up some interesting questions, how close should this movie be to the 616 or Ultimate universe? Does Universal have the rights to all the needed characters? Will they have the needed intro movies for all the characters out of the way before the movie is ready? Who should the villain be?

Re: Avengers movie (Spoilers)

well there has been rumours about this for a while now

Thor and Captain America are planned, rumours of Ant-Man and Nick Fury Movies

Favreau want's to direct this, It will probably be an amalgam of the UU/616 Avengers, and since Marvel Studios is set to produce it they already have the rights.

The Villain should be H.Y.D.R.A. acting as the anti-S.H.I.E.L.D., probably with Loki being the man behind the curtain controlling Madame Hydra/ Baron Strucker

Re: Avengers movie (Spoilers)

I think doing either the Hulk arc, the Thor arc and then the grand theft america arc (all ultimate stories) should be the first three movies doing a whole lord of the rings type deal. I was also thinking since Nick Fury may play a bigger, more medium role in Iron Man II, we should introduce Natasha as his right hand woman along with Hawkeye.

After watching running scared, I'd like to see Paul Walker as the family man Hawkeye. Although I'm sure he could do the womanizing hawkeye as well. PLus he just looks like a Clint.

Re: Avengers movie (Spoilers)

Ok, here you need Spoiler marks because any mention about another movie (because any other movie is not the topic of this thread) is spoiling people who havent seen the film yet. And the thread is titled incorrectly because there's nothing to spoil about a movie that wont be out for years.

Well they merged my original thread with this one, so the spoiler in the title was to let people know there were spoilers in the thread itself.

Really now, the other thread was 2 years old, if I added this post to that one, that would resurrecting an old thread, which is frowned upon in many parts of the internet. Seriously I think there should be a statue of limitations on old threads before they are merged with new ones.

A few problems, Movie Hulk is more like 616 Hulk than Ultimate hulk (saving the bridge the first movie, fighting abomination ion the second), so that may not work as a movie.

Plus with two Hulk movies already in play, another Hulk fight would seem like old hat.

Another problem is the Grand theft America arc is a lot to fit into a movie. Look at the Liberators, people complained when they tried to fit 3 villains into Spider-Man 3, try to explain how 8 or so villains work to an American audience. One villain would likely work better. Plus Loki would likely be the villain in a Thor movie, so him being the villain in the avengers movie would seem like old hat again.

Looking at the 616 villains, Kang is a bit too outlandish. Ultron is likely the best choice, but he would need a lot of set up.

well considering there will be movies for most of the heroes before avengers begin, that's where you draw from the Liberators. I think Ultron would have plenty of setup in the antman movie if they decide to go that direction.

I suspect the Ant-Man film is closer to realization than we think, seeing as I've earned over a 100 percentage points in share increase over HSX in the past three months. It's gone from 8.26 to 17.61 in that time.

My suspicion is that there are people who play HSX who are actually involved in Hollywood to some degree. This is not suggest that anything is solid now, but the talks for this project might be stepping up very gradually to such a point that people have been buying up enough shares to raise its price.

True, Bit it's different sine we're talking about a group of Heroes fighting a group of Villians.

If it's one villain it has to be one that can be a threat to the whole team
and loki can fit that bill(so could Ultron or some other avengers foe)

another option is an Alien invasion(Skrull,Kee or what have you)

I don't think HYDRA should be the villain of the Avengers flick.

We need a big threat. Thing with HYDRA is they're more spy based and not an anti-Avengers unit. HYDRA should of course be the villain in a Nick Fury movie and I hope AIM shows up in Iron Man 2 or 3...but that's just me.

I think Ultron is the big threat needed and will allow for awesome scenes. Ultron's strong enough for the first ever assembled Avengers to introduce themselves against, he also can make a few robotic copies which gives a PG-13 movie stuff to crave up.

Ratings boards might not like Thor frying humans en mass, but robots? That's fine. Captain America putting his shield into a chest cavity...bad if human...ok if its a robot.

Ultron can also have ties to Tony Stark and Hank Pym in their movies adding to the crossover feel.

Hmm, I wonder how big the roster will be, and for that matter: How come nobody's mentioned Wasp!? C'mon! She's winsome!

Hmmmm.....I think I could come up with a proper Avengers pitch with some time.

Personally, like I stated before, I think the Marvel Movieverse is more in synch with Ultimate Universe. If you ignore some of the more mystical elements of some Marvel films like Ghost Rider and Elektra....then you've got a filmverse that is very much set in a more realistic realm much like 616.

So my pitch would combine the best of 616 and UU.

I doubt that can work just like, I don't think the set up for these villains some of the liberator members are already being used in movies already, like Abomination already being the villain in Hulk 2 and Loki will likely be the villain in Thor movie so it be hard to reuse those villains in the avengers movie.

Plus 8 villains in one movie? People care unhappy when you had 3 villains in Spidey 3?

Again Loki will likely be the villain in a Thor movie, is it would hard to just to reuse him in an avengers movie. Plus abomination will be the villain in the hulk, so I doubt you can use him in a Avengers movie.

Again as characters themselves most of the liberators aren't very interesting, they served their purpose in the comics, but its better to have one good villain in a movie, the movie already has enough characters with all the avengers.

Doesn't matter if there's a good story behind it. The Thor Movie takes place in Asgard so they would need a reason to have Thor come to Midgard(earth.).

Liberaters not interesting? please and even if that was the case they can make them interesting. But if that doesn't tickle your fancy then let them Use the masters of Evil(Probably with a different name) and make it Helmut Zemo's incarnation the one that really gave it to the Avengers.

I mean hey after they finally do a hero team up a villian team up wont be far behind.

Ok, for the roster it's pretty easy to set-up these characters without wasting too much time in the beginning. Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man (hopefully Giant Man in the Avengers) and Wasp would all be set up in their own films. Plus isn't their a "Young X-Men" movie in the works right now? Just have the younger version of the X-Men go against a young Brotherhood and have Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver be members. Have Fury grant them amnesty in turn for joining the Avengers. Of course Black Widow and Hawkeye can be SHEILD agents.

Now on how the movie would go I could see Loki and Helmut Zemo forming a Masters of Evil or Ultron being the main villains of the first and second film while have them handle the Kree-Skrull War in a later film.

In order to solve the problem of the Masters of Evil, have Zemo recruit a team of opposite numbers to the Avengers after Captain America is revealed to be alive. It might seem repetitive to have characters such as Loki, the Abomination and Crimson Dynamo or someone from the other movies join the Masters in order to go against the Avengers because they'd work in the team setting. But really there's a huge number of characters you could draw from. Personally I wouldn't mind a Radioactive Man, Swarm, or any other Marvel villain that's kind of obscure.

I would like to see the Chitauri and Red Skull/Baron Zemo set up as the main villains in an Avengers film. More on this later.

The liberators were interesting as a concept, but as individual characters, not really, its not like any of them besides the colonel or loki got any sort of real characterization. You tell me any character traits from any other members.

But see you can't just recyle Loki, the general audience would not want to see the same villain, assuming he isn't killed in a thor movie, Abomination would likely be killed off in a Hulk movie too.

I don't want the MoE either. A group of villains and group of heroes is too many characters for a movie, the group of heroes and one villain is better.

So after the Incredible hulk movie.
Does it mean Hulk will be the villain of the avengers kind of like Ultimates vol 1? If so that will be fantastic.

It seemed they more wanted to recruit him than anything.
