I actually think it's because most people will probably drop the title after JMS and this is an incentive to keep them reading.
 
Well... that was a rather abrupt and disappointing "finale." JMS doesn't even get to really finish his own story. :?

I was expecting a giant sized finale, not a normal sized semi-finale, a preview, and a reprint of Journey into Mystery # whatever.
 
Yeah this was a complete let down. It wasn't an ending to this storyline at all. Makes no sense.

Silly me, I thought when this was billed as a "finale" Marvel was referring to the current story arc. Apparently they were referring to JMS's run on Thor.

Marvel sucks.

Fraction is writing Thor is gonna be awesome. JRJR doing art is gonna be horrible.

JRJR isn't a bad artist, but his style of art doesn't fit this book AT ALL! Personally, I would've like to see someone like Pacheco take over after Copiel. Or maybe even go a dramatic new direction with the art and have Acuna do the art.

But JRJR?!?!




This is weird though because I thought Gillen and Tan were taking over the book?

I agree about JRJR. I like him, but this isn't the book to have him on.

And the cover for some reason reminds me of The Eternals.

JRJR is just doing the FCBD issue, the artist hasn't been revealed. Check the link again.

Fraction should be great, of anyone I'd pick Zircher to work with him, he did great work with Fraction in those 3 Thor one-shots.

I don't think so. The original announcement has been corrected and states that JRJR is only doing the FCBD. And no other site mentions that he is doing anything to do with Thor after that.

Which means there is hope for this!

There is also an interview with Fraction on CBR which starts with this: "'Siege' may seem like Thor and the Asgardians' darkest hour, but a new day dawns for the Thunder God and the survivors of 'Siege' this spring in 'Thor' #610, which kicks off new writer Matt Fraction and a top secret artist's run on the book."
