I found this March 16th date in X2 (top left corner). I used this date to place the second movie in my version of the timeline. X1 has to be early November to avoid it being in the complete dead of winter.

I don't know if anyone here has read the novelisations of the first 2 movies but heres what I found in regards to the timeline. The X1 novel repeatedly refers to the time period as being winter, it also describes Jean as being in her early 30's. The X2 novel refers to the first movie multiple times as having happened 'months ago'. It also said that the night Mystique injects the guard with iron was a Saturday. We know this happened the night before Magneto's prison escape which is where the March 16th date was found. This would therefore make it Sunday March 16th which fits perfectly in 2003.
Thanks!

why would it need to match a real world summit?
it doesnt need to necessarily, but the xmen movies always leaned into tying real-world history into their narratives, vs say the mcu, so the more in-line the better imo, but it doesnt really matter at the end of the day

That seems like too big of a gap in my opinion. Has to be no more than 3 or 4 months based on Charles saying "almost 15 years" in the first movie and Stryker saying "15 years" in the second one.

Not that the novels really matter but in the X2 novel on one occasion it says something like "just a few short months ago" in relation to the first movie.

I noticed you changed your dates for X2 but you have it slightly off, the day of magneto's prison escape should be the 16th and the main day that the X-Men infiltrate alkali lake should be the 17th March. Sorry to nit pic.
Okay I'll adjust.

Did I get the timestamps right on X2 or do I need to fix that?

I don't have the blurays handy at the moments. (I got boxes and boxes of movies...)
I don't know about specific time stamps but the whole thing should last 9 days from Nightcrawler's attack on the white house on March 12th to the final scene with Charles, Logan and Cyclops on March 21st. I put full day by day breakdowns of all the movies in that document I shared here a few weeks ago on the previous page

Btw, I don't consider the official game canon but if you wanted to it would have to be 2005 seeing that Beast has his government position, which was only given to him by the X3 president

I love the game. It does some good stuff but it's pretty much contradictory to the rest of the films (like Origins: Wolverine). The only thing that keeps it canon to me is the explanation for Nightcrawler's absence.

Yeah, I literally just played through it this last week. It was fun but the idea that Stryker had actually been working with Hydra to build sentinels at Alkali Lake just seemed too ridiculous to me. Plus the fact that the whole place should have been flooded and destroyed with Jason Stryker and Lady Deathstrike very much dead

Deadpool is the same timeline as the post-DOFP timeline with the Colossus who can just shut off his metal plating when it feels like it (as we saw metalless Colossus in the DOFP ending). Despite the ridiculous retcons, it's comic book world so stretches in survival rates or absurdities like Stryker having a secret Master Mold project doesn't affect me.

In the end, it's supplementary material. But canon until officially stated otherwise.

Anyone played the Origins Wolverine game? I think it's the best pre-Arkham superhero game, especially for a movie tie-in. I actually think it fits into canon much better than the film. I love the DoFP tease in the bookends too. Really cool stuff in there
Yep, years ago. It's quite good.

Ok so I had a look through your timestamps for X2. Chapter 1 (c1) is just credits obviously, c2 and c4 is March 12th. C3 I just assumed was like January or something but it's hard to tell. C5 happens March 13th, nothing happens on the 14th.

As far as I can tell you've got everything from c6 to c36 correct. My timestamps are a little different to yours but that's most likely just down to watching it in different formats. C37 is on March 19th, c38 is on March 21st. C39 is on an unspecified date that I just assumed was May judging by how most of the snow had melted at Alkali Lake.

TV Guide's issue in 2000 covering the first X-Men film had a tie-in comic within it, apparantly.
Found it. It's 4 pages and not compatable with Earth-10005. It's just Magneto interupting a Danger Room session (with WOLVERINE and JEAN GREY there, Magneto not in prison) - And he is gloating "I WILL get you soon!" essentially like Sting in David Lynch's Dune. That's it.

And the Sentinels are ugly, green and resemble the hideous bricky Transformers minicon toys from Takara giveaways.
