Pixar Theory Timeline (headcanon)

Help Support The Comic Board:

I've actually finished everything on-screen wise now (I believe). There are a few things not included as I believe they take place in the Real World, though other than that I've finished.

Well, I still need to list all 64 Toy Story Treats shorts, and add Elio, though I'll get to those when Elio releases on D+. In the mean time, I'm going to be working on adding comics now

The Monsters Inc. comics are retconned by Monsters At Work, so I won't be including them. The Pixar comics are rare, thus expensive, yet not sought after, thus scarce on comic archives. When I find affordable ones, I'll get them, but for now I'll start working on the Detailed Timeline

I don't have any of the Blu-Rays, so I won't be able to provide chapter timestamps, though I will do my best to get accurate timestamps from D+

This page keeps refreshing in the background while I'm timestamp-ing, so I'm gonna take a short break and get a second screen to watch stuff on…

I'm currently doing some more Pixar Shorts. They're pretty much all BnL rooms at this point, but like this post if you think I should keep Monsters University at 20516, angry face if you think it should be XX516
I've had literally no responses… I'm probably gonna keep it at 20516 for simplicity's sake, but I may change this if there's a lot of backlash

I've added Toy Story Treats to the simplified timeline, with all episodes listed. I've placed it at any time after 1998, since this is when Bo Peep leaves, and Bo Peep isn't present in these shorts

Bryce seems really hyped up that he "called Ohio last week", so it seems to be set in the late 20th century (the Voyager took off in 1977, which is referenced at the beginning of the film). This is reinforced by one of the computer files having ".mp1" as its extension, which was used mostly in the '90s (being published in '93).

There is an ofrenda seen, so clearly it is set in late October (when Elio knocks things off the ofrenda, his aunt doesn't react much more than if it was any other masterpiece, so clearly Día de los Muertos hasn't begun yet).

Since most of the movie takes place in space, there isn't much to go off, so I'm happy placing it in an October, during the '90s.

I disagree with the Ratatouille placement. The movie is intentionally stylised anachronistically, set in an idyllic version of working-class Paris that combines the aesthetic of the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and so on. However, Gusteau's will (which was signed one year prior to the events of the film) is dated here to June 23rd, 2004. This would place the events of the film around 2005.023sq2t59h741.jpg
Additionally, in Inside Out, according to Riley's username on the Chat Master program shown in the film, she was born on January 22, 2003. Given that she is eleven during the events of the film, that would place the main events in 2014, the epilogue in 2015, and the events of the second film in 2016. I know it's contradictory to her alleged appearance in Finding Dory, but one can easily assume that is most likely just an easter egg.

I'm not going to explain the Ratatouille reasoning again, I've done it countless times by people who just assume I messed up big time. The Inside Out one I will consider, though

I may have came across as passive aggressive here, that was definitely not my intention. I just get tired of having to explain the same thing again and again

I also understand your reasoning with "just an Easter Egg" but the foundation of the Pixar Theory is Easter Eggs, so it would be counter-intuitive to ignore them when it seems fit. I am going to put some thought into Inside Out, though, as it is clearly meant to be set in the 2010s, and I never really liked the "Incredibles is retro-futuristic, so they just advanced technology faster" explanation. It did what it had to, though it rarely sat well with me

I've changed the Inside Out placement to those years, since it does jut work better. If I'm excusing art errors, I can excuse a single character being where they shouldn't. It also works better for my "Riley is Soul 1" theory.

I also upped Riley's First Date, as it's clearly set shortly after the epilogue

Thanks for taking my point into consideration. There were some more points I wanted to add but I'll look more into them first.

I'm probably going to move Elemental to its release date, with an [Elemental plane] citation, as this seems to be the intent while making the movie. It still has connections to the rest of the Pixar Theory, I'm going with the Super Carlin Brothers' evidence for that

I recently found out about a crossover between Elio and Phineas and Ferb... I'm not really sure how to feel about that. Elio is clearly meant to be set in the '90s, but Phineas and Ferb is clearly the 2010s (and yes, there is evidence shown for both of these, it's not just "vibes"). I'm assuming this doesn't mean Phineas and Ferb is canon, but that these are doppelgängers of Phineas and Ferb in the Elio universe (and vice versa)

Doesn't Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins have scenes set in the actual reality of Toy Story outside of the fictional narrative?

When hoopers takes place?
Is that even out yet? Anyway, don't expect a placement any time soon, I'll probably wait until it comes out on D+ since it's a lot harder to timeline with animated things than live action, there are much less background dates to go off so until I can pause/get good looks at things like number plates, it probably won't be on here.

Idk, maybe I'll see it in cinemas. Probably not though

Also the For The Birds short can take place directly after Inside Out because the birds cameo in that movie iirc

Also one last thing Toy Story 1 takes place in 1995 according to the opening of Lightyear.
Yeah I'm ignoring that because it messes up with the rest of the Toy Story timeline. It's literally the only thing in the Toy Story timeline that doesn't line up, the rest of it is actually surprisingly clean

Hoppers is on D+ now, so ig I'm watching that now. Gives me a reason to get back into this. I wanna go over the comics again since I really just brushed over them, but I want to actually get the comics this time. I'll probably work on the detailed timeline or games after I place Hoppers
