In the issue it has been mentioned that the movie has been officially put off until the series ends. Once the show is done, the movie is the first thing they will do right after.

I'm cool with that
Me, too. It'd be impossible to juggle both as the movie will be written by the show writers, plus, Keifer (I actually typed Jack first!) works on the show for 10 months of the year. Not exactly a lot of time to put aside to shoot a movie.

Not really any news or anything....but I found this incredibly hilarious IM chat with Jack Bauer on IGN.

I'm still not sold on the idea of
Tony coming back
. My initial, gut reaction is that my once favorite show has finally jumped the shark, but I'll watch, wait, and find out how they're going to fix this mess. If indeed it turns out to be a mess at all.

But seriously, after how mediocre this season of Heroes has been so far, I desperately need 24 to come back with a vengeance and have one of its best seasons, if for no other reason than to restore my confidence in the existence good TV (Pushing Daisies and Damages notwithstanding).

I need to catch back up. I stopped watching when I found out Tony died as Tony was my favorite character. I was about midway through Season 4 when I heard (Watching them on DVD). I also heard a lot of mixed reactions on Season 6. I figure now would be a good time to catch up again, though, what with the Writer's Strike and all. 24, Lost, The Sopranos, Battlestar Galactica. That's what I'm going to be buying on DVD in the next couple of weeks to occupy me.

So I just recently got into this show. I saw the seasons on sale at Target for $20, so I picked up the first two. I watched through Season 1 and immediately became a fan. I'm only mid-way through Season 2, but I've already went out and bought Seasons 1-5 on DVD, ordered the Declassified novels and both graphic novels (Nightfall and 24 Stories), and the video game (I'm waiting to finish the second season before playing it to follow the chronology).

I really enjoy this show. Its full of action, plot twists, and suspense, and is certainly not mindless. Paying close attention always pays off.

I'm hoping to finish the rest of Season 2, and then Seasons 3-6 before Season 7 airs (which will be whenever the writer's strike is over).

And another joins the fold...

I rewatched the last season over break...it wasn't as good as the others.

I want my "He Shot Her In The Leg/I Make Noah Bennet Cry" Bauer back.

And Nina Meyers. I know they can make it happen.

As I posted in another thread on the concern when shows will be back, here's the bad news on 24:

Fox's 24 will produce the remaining 16 episodes of its planned season this spring, to avoid losing options on its actors, but the drama won't return till next January.

*Ahem*

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

More bad news:

No Morew Surnow

"24" co-creator/executive producer Joel Surnow is leaving the Emmy-winning Fox drama.

Surnow's departure is effective immediately. He served as an executive producer on the first eight episodes of the real-time thriller's seventh season that were produced before and into the strike but will not be creatively involved in the remaining 16 episodes, slated to begin filming shortly.

Sucks that Season 7 won't air until next year. I understand the reasons behind it, but still hate it. Oh well, gives me time to read through the rest of the Declassified novels, and rewatch the first six seasons (I went through all six and the videogame in about a month and a half), read the comics, maybe play the video game again before it comes back on the air.

The good news is, since they'll probably start shooting the remaining 16 Season 7 episodes soon, and finish in a few months, the actors, directors, writers, crew, etc that all work on 24 will have some extra time on hand. This could bump up the production of the 24 movie. Supposedly the script is already done, so it wouldn't take long for the project to get underway assuming there are no major setbacks. They could film the movie late this year, or early next year while the Season 7 episodes are airing on TV, for a mid to late 2009 release. Heck, they could even start filming Season 8 next year while Season 7 films, to help ensure filming completion. Who knows?

I doubt this will bump up the movie. If anything it pushes it back. It mentions in the little quote I posted that they're shooting the rest of the season this Spring, likely starting sometime in late March or early April.

They said that the movie is the absolute last thing on their mind until the show is over. I really don't see them starting production and stopping for the next season to shoot and all. They have the script done.

For the show to complete all 24 episodes, it takes about 10 months or so, as officially stated by Sutherland many times. So really no 24 movie until 2011 by this point.

Oh well.

And 10 months to film 24 episodes? Damn. Most shows with similar episode numbers only shoot around 5-8 months a year. Though I guess since Sutherland is Executive Producing the show, he's involved with a lot more than just acting in it, and therefore helps in all aspects of the show, from early on in the process. I guess that 10 month mention makes sense when you factor that in.

At least it would be out before the end of the world

Well I think filming outdoors gets complicated due to sunlight considering the real time aspect. Also Editing this show has to be a *****
