Anyone pick it up? i though it was good even though the DA are who we thought we are.

I did. It was ok. No real surprises. The Deodato art is nice. Not crazy about how he makes Osborn look like Tommy Lee Jones, but whatever. His Venom is SWEET.
Storywise I think it has potential but I can see it devolving into just set up for another big fight like SI was. Only this time it will be good Avengers beating up Norman and his bad Avengers.
And can someone, anyone explain to me wtf is up with Osborns hair? Can't someone just draw the guy with a normal "do" already? The 70's wavey look has got to go.
Believe it or not, I had a professor last year who had Norman Osborn hair. down to the color and receding hairline.
No not "color", singular, but "colors", plural cuz Norman Osborn hair alternates between like a rust color and a brown color for each row creating that odd lateral striping effect. Ugh.
But I'm sure it looked good on ur prof.
Looks like the Ms.Marvel from Da is also taking over the regular Ms.Marvel book.
I really hope Bendis treats these characters well
You know how I bet Bendis is going to explain this away, it will be one of two waysAnd Osborn himself, a guy who is as "obsessive" as Norman Osborn, would never ever ever ever use anything created with Starktech, esecially when he has the ability to create stuff like that himself...
In my opinion The Iron Patriot is a total failure from the very beginning...
(But I really wanna see the confrontation of Iron Man & Iron Patriot)
Bendis can treat characters well, if he likes them. Look at what he's done for Cage.Oh, boy, you haven't read Marvel for long, have you?

I also said I HOPE, as in "I hope he doesn't square-hole round-peg Noh Varr into a role that he isn't meant for like he did with The Hood."
DA#1 was pretty decent I thought, an awful lot of fudging characters situations so they'd fit though
I agree. I liked it, but I can't figure out why.
It read like Bendis ripping off Young Avengers.
Thinking of the concept outside of this book, I wouldn't care for "dark" versions of the Avengers. But it kind of worked here. Osbourn as "Iron Man" is so outrageous that it might just work.
One thing I did hate though - a magic pill that makes Venom lose his fangs and slobber? STUPID.
Makes sense since Gargan can't control the suit.
Eddie could remove them at will though.
I`m having fun attempting to explain Bendis today so I`ll give it a shotOne thing I did hate though - a magic pill that makes Venom lose his fangs and slobber? STUPID.

over the course of the year Gargan has been shown having more and more trouble contolling the symbiote, because the symbiote needs Phenethylamine a chemical produced by the brain, which is commonly also found in Chocolate. It`s the chemical people link to Love.
Phenethylamine is the reason Venom wants to eat brains, it sustains symbiotes, it also seems to keep them `relatively`sane, so the longer Venom has gone without eating brains the more unstable it has become (hence it`s growingly monstrous appearence over the course of the year)
I imagine the pill that Osborn gave Venom was hyper-concentrated time-release Phenethylamine, which would satisfy the symbiote and give Gargan the steering wheels so to say, hence the suit returning to a simple appearence and a general calm down in nature
but Venom has been shown in the preview for the next issue of NA, and he can grow the teeth and tongue back, and still gets to eat skrulls
