Ex Machina series discussion (spoilers)

The latest arc is kind of boring, too much talk, not enough walk.

But the art is good. :D

I picked up the first trade because it was cheap and I had a coupon.

I enjoyed it. Enough to pick up the second and probably keep reading the trades, anyway. I only read the first trade of Y but I agree with a post Bass made a while back - the structure does seem pretty similar. The art is better in Ex Machina, though.

It's an interesting concept, and I'm interested in seeing what is made of this alien bomb thingee that gave him his powers.

Well, we haven't learnt about his origin in the ongoing series yet, but it has been promised we learn more about it in the two specials, one of which comes out today.

Glad you liked it.

you need one?

I was just wondering, would you be able to order in trades and stuff for Ultimate Central members cheaper than it would be to get off Amazon and other stores?

Nice. Ice, come here and post about the series now that you've read it.

And I was wrong about the special. It's actually the origin of one of his enemies.

Could someone who has the actual issues be a dear and check if #16 really contains 21 pages of story? I did the timeline from scans and all the other issues have 22 pages of story (except #1 and #14 which have more) but #16 only has 21.

I read the 1st 3 trades........ man i was confused, i kinda didn't know what i was getting into..... and kinda thought i wasted my money.
But i reread them and kinda understood what was happening, and really enjoyed them.

I wouldn't say this is the best series in the world, but i liked what i read and will get the next trade when it comes out

I definitely dig it.

I really don't dig the art though. I think using models like that really makes it look like the characters are posing for the panels. But Vaughan's work, as always, is friggin' sweet!

So, the next arc is about Marijuana.

Crazy.

I want to learn about the alien bomb thing that he got his powers from.

The second part of the special comes out this week.

I f'n hate the art. What's with BKV and lousey artists? I'm not completely against Y's art but it's not the best and I feel his calibur writing deserves some serious artwork. Ex's art looks like an episode of "Tom Goes to the Mayor".

Anyway, I'd love to catch up and talk about this.

You're crazy. Both artists are a perfect fit for these books. The artist for this book makes the story even better. It just goes well hand in hand with what goes on throught the series.

Tom Goes to the Mayor and Ex Machina are brothers?

It's all down to tastes.

Personally, I really do not like Bagley. But I think Harris is cool.
