[IMGL]http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/Batman/DetectiveComicsCv821_t.jpg[/IMGL] From Newsarama:
Back in January, when DC Executive Editor Dan Didio confirmed that Paul Dini would be the new writer on Detective Comics following James Robinson's eight part Batman-Detective spanning arc, Rags Morales was announced as artist.

Things change.

In this case, the change takes the form of two initials, a word, and a Roman numeral: JH Williams III.

This is awesome. Paul Dini and JH Williams III on Detective Comics.

Today's Bad Signal has Warren Ellis leaving for a holiday, so we can't learn about Desolation Jones until he gets back.

Uncle Warren doesn't sound exactly pleased, though:

FIRST: PLEASE don't respond to this email. I'm going on
holiday in the morning and I really don't want this to break
my email box, okay?

SECOND: Yes, JH Williams just said at Newsarama that
he's going to be drawing BATMAN fulltime.

THIRD: Wildstorm and I were not ready for a public
comment. And, for God's sake, I'm going on holiday
in the morning. So this is going to have to wait until
next week and everybody is just going to have to cope.

Okay? Okay.

Isn't Desolation Jones finished now? I thought it was a mini?

I'll be picking up Dini and Williams' Batman, though.

Desolation Jones is an ongoing for as long as Ellis can write it.

I didn't realise. I didn't really enjoy the first couple of issues I got, so I didn't bother with the rest of it. Maybe I'll give it another shot sometime.

Yeah, people rave on about it, but I didn't like it that much. Apparently the ending is not what people expected, so I'll see.

It was a surprise ending. Pretty good.

The first couple of issues were good then it kind of lost steam. I'm sure it will read better in trade, which is why I've switched to trades for this title.

As for JHW3, I don't know much about him other than what I've seen of him on Desolation Jones,, but his style seems perfectly suited for Batman.

Wait, has the sixth issue already came out? I thought it was this Wednesday. :?

Nope. Last Wednesday.

Nuts, I was looking forward to Morales. I've never seen this guys work, I assume he's good from what you've said?

He seems pissed off that it was announced before he realised it would be, not that Williams has left Desolation Jones.

Wow - that's fantastic.

I'll check out the first issue, and probably pick it up in TPB.
