I think on my timeline where I have Earth as a parallel universe I think I'm just going to assume that the Mario cast can travel to any point in time on the parallel Earth rather than have it be time dilation. It's simpler and can explain how Cranky Kong can be in Super Punch-Out while DK III can appear in Punch-Out Wii when those games take place in a super close proximity to each other timeline wise. Still unsure about including SimCity at all but I guess I can now with this assumption.

Also I'll probably count Rhythm Heaven as Mario canon despite what that interview says for fun. They're way too important as characters in the Warioware series to not count it as a shared universe

Btw Crash has time dilation compared to Spyro. Classic Spyro would have to happen hundreds of years before Skylanders happens. Crash takes place in mostly real time, Crash 1 takes place in its year of release for example, his appearance in Skylanders is set 20 years later, etc. which means there has to be time dilation between those 2 universes in this instance

Are you going to add The Frog For Whom The Bell Tolls since it has Mad Sciencestein/Dr Shitain? That's the game he originated from before Wario Land

The official course made by Nintendo called "did somebody call a plumber?" It's a recreation of levels from both games and the Mario Bros portion leads into SMB, I believe the course description even confirms that's what's happening but I'm not 100% sure. It was mentioned on Sean's timeline
Coming back to this, was it part of the story mode or just separate levels Nintendo made? If it’s the latter, it could just be some Nintendo employee wanting his headcanon to become official, so I wouldn’t consider it. If it’s the former, it’d be a reoccurring of the same events, so I wouldn’t consider it (unless wording specifically states that what’s happening is during the first occurrence of those events - simply saying something along the lines of “Mario Bros. goes into Super Mario Bros.” wouldn’t be sufficient because it could still refer to the reoccurrences of said games)

Also, should I change Japanese-only games' titles to Japanese characters? For example, should I make Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic into 夢工場ドキドキパニック? I could include English writings in brackets after, since I want more than just people who can read Japanese to use this (hence why I'm using the... English... names of games) though with Japanese-only games it feels like the better option, as that would be the name of the game. I think this would only apply to Doki Doki Panic, the first 5 Legendary Starfy games (Densetsu no Starfy) and Donkey Konga 3, though if I add The Frog for whom the Bell Tolls that'd be Japanese too.

Speaking of TFFWTBT, pretty much everything about that game lines up with the Mushroom World's whole aesthetic (the protagonist is from the Custard Kingdom, for example) though Wario Land 3 implies Rudy the Crown (and by extension Sciencestein) have been trapped for hundreds, if not thousands of years, which would make TFFWTBT impossible to definitively place on the detailed timeline, since there's nothing to go off. It wouldn't be much of an issue, if there weren't actually seen events that happen there (Skylanders flashbacks - I presume there's Skylanders flashbacks - Spyro games, Paper Mario flashbacks, Mario's Time Machine, etc)

couldn't frog happen after mad Sciencestein gets released from the music box after Wario land 3? He and Rudy are out in the world in Dr Mario 64 and iirc mad Sciencestein isn't evil anymore in Wario Land 4(?) which would lineup with him being a good guy in Frog

There isn't really much of a story mode in Maker. It is just part of a set of levels Nintendo made. I think it's silly to ignore an official level in a game just because it could be made by an intern or something. It was approved by them in an officially published game so I'd assume it counts as how they view things

Especially since other games say that Shellcreepers are a previous evolution of Koopas. I think it's meant to be the case that the sewers in Mario Bros lead to the Mushroom Kingdom. It feels silly to not acknowledge it just because a tennis and golf game released between them
