My Boom-Boom's mostly gay
So, I've been reading Astro City. I haven't been too impressed with anything else I've read by Busiek, but this book is absolutely brilliant.
E, there are so many comic collectors at my college -- it's insane, I'm never the only one going to the LCS every Wednesday -- and they pretty much all collect Deadpool.... except me.
Congratulations
Seems to be the general consensus. He sucks on everything but Deadpool.
The first issue of his Deadpool that I read was pretty good - especially compared to his first issue of Wolverine.Seems to be the general consensus.
I'm not saying he not popular - obviously he is. I just don't understand why.
I'm not saying he isn't, either. I just wanted to let you know that I, too, seem to be the only one -- albeit on my campus, not on the internet -- who doesn't get it. Even my roommate has all the trades.
You have no idea how much I love when an innocuous statement like the one I made ruffles someone's panties enough to post a comment like this. I created this site for posts like this. Thank you.
Crazy Awesome: this is a series in which out-of-character established superheroes and the Captain*** blow things up while being pursued by a Nick Fury spoof in an airship made from submarines welded together.
I'm a bit surprised they got fired for just that. Is it really that big of a deal to cancel one reservation? I'm mean sure they went against policy but I don't think it's enough to loose your job over.
Well, they seem to be pretty vocal in their stance on the book being pornography.
I am a little surprised that the library went the way they did considering it's Kentucky, but hey, that's cool I guess.
Either way, that sounds like a cool eleven year old.
I haven't read the book, but I agree that there some things kids shouldn't read. And I get the whole freedom of speech and they can't tell you what not to read and so forth. But their actions deserved more "slap on the wrists" than flat out firing. Maybe if they got up in the boss' face acting crazy, but based on the article seems like an overeaction. Well they seemed alright with being canned so I guess all is well. Alan Moore wins.
Oh in that case I can see.Well, first off, they apparently weren't librarians. They were circulation staff, which means they weren't really qualified to make that decision. If they had gone to a supervisor and discussed their concern, that would be one thing, but they just straight up decided they didn't want this kid reading smut, and so they figured it was their prerogative to decide what she can and can't read.
I have not read a new comic in almost 3 months. I miss them so much.
Not so much a lot of the mainstream Dark Reign stuff...but I miss my Image titles. Especially The Sword.
By the time I get enough money to buy my backlist online it's gonna be close to $300.
