Well, it is out here in the UK anyway....

If you liked the first film, you will love this one.
It is freaking insane.
The Megatron/Starscream interaction is fantastic, totally spot on with Starscream acting like a snivelling toad, followed by Megatron berating him and backhanding him (and also beating him with his own arm. Awesome.)
Optimus Prime is just brutal. Seriously. He rips guys faces off repeatedly.
Devastator was awesome.
Jetfire was cool as hell.
The Twins were more of a stereotype than Jazz in the first film.
Wheelie was funny.
Megan Fox makes me happy in pants.

Do Arcee and Sideswipe get decent screen time?

Not that much to be honest. Sideswipe is pretty cool, but they show him more in car form than robot. Although he is pretty cool in the first and the final battles.
Arcee is sort of a collective conciousness inhabiting a trio of motorbike Transformers (Think the Stepford Cuckoos, if they are motorbike robots..)

Screw the robots, I for one would like to hear more about Megan Fox. How much screen time, how much clothing, etc.

Plenty of screentime. The first scene with her is impressively gratuitous. Her leaning over a bike in very small shorts. Nice. Interestingly enough, in the final fight there is a shot of her and a couple of others running in slow mo. Much effort was put in to focus on her centrally and most importanty, her chest. All is good.

The Decepticon Pretender was pretty creepy as well, although it reminded me of T-X from Terminator 3. If it had a giant metal tongue for throttling.

Oh one other thing showed up..

The Matrix of Leadership.

Do they set things up for a sequel (like Starscream escaping into space and Optimus calling for refugees in the first one)?

Yes.

As you haven't seen it yet I will spoiler tag it as it is the ending
Megatron and Starscream survive after Prime beats the living crap out of The Fallen and you get a "I'll get you next time!" moment as they both escape. Prime continues to send his message out into space.

What did you think of Skids and Mudflap?

I'm guessing they're going to be the characters people are most divided over.

Yay! The movies aren't really that true to the mythology, like the movies really are Michael Bay's own universe, but I'm glad to hear they had the Matrix. I mean, every incarnation of the Transformers is different, but Bayformers is probably the most different. Maybe I'm wrong, what was all the ancient Egypt stuff about that was teased in the trailers?

The Egypt stuff is centred around the Fallen and the Primes arriving on earth centuries ago looking for Energon. That's mostly told all flashbacky.

There is a moment with Prime and The Matrix that was just BEGGING for The Touch to start playing...

Skids and Mudflap were described best in a review I read. The Jar-Jar Binks Twins.

Wheelie was pretty cool. It was funny how the little Transformer, who most younger kids would want toys of etc.... was the most foul mouthed arse going....

I want Primus and Unicron. The movie doesn't really delve any more into the origins of the All Spark, I take it? Any chance of Primus and Unicron for the next movie? One thing I've noticed is that the Bayformers seem to be younger than regular Transformers; usually, the Transformers history is billions of years old .... so I'm afraid we won't get to see Primus in this incarnation (plus they seem to be taking a different approach to the origin having introduced the Cube .... but I'm just hoping that the Cube has ties to Primus and Unicron - the Topps trading card series for the Unicron Trilogy mentioned Primus and Unicron being twin heralds CREATED by the All Spark, though that particular "All Spark" was an interdimensional ENTITY later renamed "The One" .... It gets a little complicated after that. :)). And judging by the status of planet Cybertron in Bayformers, it seems even less likely that we'll see Primus. And Bayformers seems to be taking less of a religious (Primus = God, Unicron = Devil) approach and more of a science (All Spark) approach .... But this is only natural if Michael Bay wants to ground the movies in the real world. But then, there's The Fallen who was just introduced, and he's basically Judas. And the thirteen original Transformers were the 12 Apostles plus Jesus I think. Jesus would be Prima maybe? Or Omega Supreme? Or Burrito Supreme? Hm.

I think Unicorn would be very hard to put on screen, how much money would it cost it create a planet sized transformer effect?

Not that hard these days. I mean, look at back in the nineties when Roland Emmerich did Independence Day. That was back then. Now look what we can do. Look at Emmerich's upcoming movie 2012. Look at Star Trek. What's "planet-size"? Planets come in all shapes and sizes (well .... mostly sizes). Pluto's sometimes considered a planet. What if he's as small as Pluto? They say he's planet-size but really he's Cybertron's moon. And look at Sunshine. They spent the whole movie on the sun. The sun's bigger than a planet. Look at the Death Star in 1977 for Christ's sake. We can do anything with visual effects. And how much do you think Revenge of the Fallen will gross? They can put that money to good use by concentrating on Unicron. And have Leonard Nimoy do the voice, he'll do it for free even though Michael Bay's too scared to ask him.

They're related somehow.

I rest my case.

Dude... Be a little less of a geek...please...

This is all just information I've collected from Wikipedia and stuff. I actually don't own anything Transformers-related, no toys or DVDs, never read any Transformers comics, never saw an episode of the Transformers cartoon. I learn it all from Wikipedia. I'm a pseudo-geek when it comes to Transformers.

The egyptian prophecy stuff, sounds like it was just begging for a Beast Wars reference

They deserve their own movie

Beast Wars ftw
