having now rewatched the rogue cut and apocalypse i really don't see it being any more discontinuous than the rest of the series. the cerebro room in apocalypse is entirely different than in dofp, mystique's reference to it as the new model could just as equally refer to the rogue cut cerebro as it does to the first class prototype and Hank's allusion to her being the influence to the blue colouring fits because they never talk about it in rogue, plus the helmet has additional blue highlights in apocalypse
 
Adding to what Pro Bot said, I'm looking at this from this perspective:
Not only are there conflicting elements but it's already said to be non-canon officially.

If they said nothing about canonicity behind the scenes, I would have added this despite the squint test for the Cerebro/Mystique issue, maybe.
Say what you will about Bryan Singer, terrible person allegedly, but his word about the canon of the films he made still hold standing regardless if he was blacklisted or not.

A universal rule that has been set uniformly here is that any producer's word regarding some of the supplementary tie-in material, for example that non-canonical MCU Thanos origin book, is final until stated otherwise. So if Feige comes out and says "Hey so the Rogue Cut is now canon to Earth-10005" then that's the new standard. But that hasn't happened, so I'm keeping the shortened version we got.
 
I'm kinda wondering now, after reading about Nexus Beings, if the flashbacks with Syd, the Loudermilks, and other 'creations' or extensions of David's psyche are embedded in the timeline due to his abilities.

That would explain why the Time Eaters are so hostile yet an essential part of fixing the timeline according to Switch's dad Kenzo Xiu; even taking away the TVA headcanon of mine, it's established in the show the Time Eaters are a neutral force that exist to correct time. Because if David's power is literally "the mind is the limit - you imagine it, reality shapes to it" then he can affect time and place 'personalities' within it and give them lives.

I feel like there had to be some inside info about the MCU's future shared with Marvel Television or Noah Hawley somehow. That all worked out clean long after the fact but in the context of Legion's 3rd season when it first aired in 2019 it was OUT OF NOWHERE within the narrative. (Yes, that's the show's thing. Maybe Loki borrowed ideas from Legion and shaped around certain elements, but that seems very niche. I dunno.)

If Switch's dad was TVA, more likely now than not, Nexus Beings are basically the exception to the new TVA's guarding of the multiverse. David messed with the timeline so much with his broken mind abilities it would have eventually threatened the multiverse. So here comes some strange amalgam of mutant and temporal machine known as "Switch" that uses a method of time travel that essentially erased the previous one not by pruning but more akin to a closed timelike curve; like Chase Stein's time device from Runaways.

What are you quoting by chance? Chase Stein? Been a while since I've watched that finale haha.
 
I know The Gifted was supposed to lead into some other form of a post-apocalypse, presumably a different DoFP from the films, had it gone on further.
I think the widely incompatible (with Earth-10005) X-Men Origins game could be Earth-17372; maybe some of the contradicting X-Men movie prequel/tie-in comics too.

 
Huge speculation for Deadpool 3 incoming
My take from this:
1.) This is Post-Loki.
2.) First part of the movie is Wade adjusting to his new life after saving Vanessa from being killed. He's retired from being an assassin, as you see in the trailer where he's working as tech support at a small company, looking at his old costume in his work locker; longing for his old 'career' back. He has a heart to heart with Vanessa about this and ultimately is talked out of being an assassin again and finally Wade is at peace with himself. On his birthday, the TVA show up to apprehend him as his temporal aura is misplaced - but they also use the opportunity to hire him (his regenerative factor is useful?) as an assassin to do one simple task on the Sacred Timeline - with the promise that he'll be sent home.
3.) The Nexus Event that Deadpool is hired to prevent in the Sacred Timeline involves something in Europe or Asia - perhaps to do with Wolverine. He finds the fake Wolverine in the Casino (seen in the trailer) played by Daniel Radcliffe. His character (an escaped shape-shifting mutant prisoner of the TVA - I guess Kevin Sidney?) isn't supposed to be on the Sacred Timeline and working for an underground group of Mutants in The Void lead by Cassandra Nova Xavier. (More on that shortly.)
4.) Wade eventually kills the poor shape-shifter - but soon discovers that the TVA was never going to send him home and would have pruned him out of necessity after the job was done. By removing this time-displaced Wade from the universe his existence/aura was anchored to, where he undid Vanessa's death and finally lived a happy life, it is revealed that reality is now destroyed due to his removal from that timeline. Meaning, everyone and everything he loved is gone. Erased from existence. (This isn't Earth-17315 - the Logan future - as more is revealed.)
5.) Wade, grief-stricken by this loss, starts killing TVA agents in a fit of fury before he's eventually overpowered and pruned - taken to the Void. There, he discovers a Wolverine variant (Hugh Jackman in his comic suit and all) who is actually from the Sacred Timeline - and wasn't meant to get pruned (due to something that involved Cassandra Nova Xavier as well) but did anyways, creating a domino effect leading to no X-Men on Earth-199999. Wolverine became aware of this during his time in the Void.
6.) The duo team up to look for Cassandra. As it turns out, Wade Wilson was lured out of his timeline by Daniel Radcliffe's character who escaped thanks to Cassandra's extremely powerful interdimensional/telepathic abilities, and TVA wouldn't have apprehended Wade in the first place and would let him live his own happy life on his branch if not for her. Since only one of her existed in a multitude of timelines, Cassandra's goal is to rid all of Xavier's legacy through-out the multiverse as revenge for never having a chance to exist on her branch which was pruned before the events of Loki. (Maybe some implication that Mutants were doomed no matter the timeline - Earth-10005, Earth-17315, Deadpool's timeline post-DoFP, etc even the Sacred Timeline - thanks to her staging some event.)
7.) Eventually Wade and Wolverine kill her and all her Mutant variant lackeys, and...from there, I don't know how to theorize how it goes from here but Deadpool somehow ends up out of the Void and maybe Wolverine dies, I dunno. Anything's possible.

hmmmm I'm very sceptical about this theory.

Tbh it makes more sense like this:

Fox X-men Universe

Marvel 90s Animated Universe (Includes X-men & Spider-Man shows for now, could Possibly retcon in FF, Iron Man, Silver Surfer shows but we'll see)

Earth 838 - illuminati from Dr Strange 2

Earth Unkown - Monica is stuck with Beast and Binary (This could be Earth 838 somehow (unlikely due to Monica being Captain Marvel in 838) or, more plausible, the 90s Animated Universe, but we have no concrete evidence to support this theory yet)

Now I'm starting to get confused with the fox x-men viewing order as its being connected to the larger MCU Multiverse Saga.

For Instance, if the rumours or theories about DP3 are true. (Especially since we have glimpses of the final location from Logan in the trailer)

It was fairly Straightforward before DP3 started playing with the TVA and other timeline shattering rules and exposition.

Before the MCU:

1. First Class
2. X-men Origins Wolverine
3. X-men
4. X2
5. last stand
6. The Wolverine
7. The Gifted S01 & S02
(I know it's not certified canon, but it fits well leading into DOFP, and the showrunners made it with the current movie canon at the time in mind) (it's the fox universe's A.O.S imo)
8. DOFP
9. Apocalypse
10. Dark Pheonix
11. Deadpool
12. Deadpool - No good deed short
13. Deadpool 2
14. New mutants
15. Logan

Timeline 1 Starts with first class and then ends with DOFP with Wolverine going back in time to rewrite the past, cancelling out all of the previous films except for first class.

Then it continues on in timeline 2 with the films that took place in between the end of DOFP and when logan returned to the present day in this new timeline and beyond.

Timeline 2 also has a connective plotline that unfortunately never ended up happening, in the form of Essex Corp, which is shown in Apocalypse, Deadpool 2, New mutants and Logan.


However, with fast approaching Deadpool 3 arriving in July I think that Disney may have unintentionally changed the order by creating another multiversal rule if the rumours are to be believed.

After MCU


1. First Class
2. X-men Origins Wolverine
3. X-men
4. X2
5. last stand
6. The Wolverine
7. The Gifted S01 & S02

15. Deadpool 2 (movie plays out as normal, wade messes with time by stopping Venessa & some x-force members from dying) (Wade lives in this slightly altered timeline which would lead into DP3)
16. Deadpool & Wolverine

This would make sense for wade to know about logan's death at the beginning of DP2 and would work with the already established timeline rules of the mcu although I prefer the order before disney bought the rights to the fox universe as its 2 seperate timelines, the 1st happens and then gets overwritten by the 2nd, easier to get your head around, instead of adding the extra layer of the 2nd timeline branching off midway through into another universe and leaving the rest of it intact (which route do you take, which films do you watch first in that intersection between the mcu and the rest of the fox universe.)

I'd be very interested in what you guys think.

*Azazel and Weapon 11 (Striker's Right-hand Woman in X2) are shown when the Ant-Man Helmet opens up.
(Early Filming leaks revealed that the original X-men trilogy Sabretooth would be killed by logan and Deadpool in the void)
*Alioth from Loki is shown attacking the Mutant Compound (the Giant Man Corpse) in the Void.
*Cassandra Nova (Professor X's Sister) is the villain.
*Dr Strange Portal, to the MCU? opens up and Deadpool and logan jump into it.
*Revised Timeline Logan or Variant Revised Timeline Logan got the fox universe (both the original and revised timelines) pruned?
(Not sure how this will affect the viewing order of the rest of the revised timeline for the fox universe if new mutants and logan happens in 2027 & 2029 and this takes place in 2023)

Weapon XI is Wade Wilson (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), not Lady Deathstrike.
