The Hulk was going to rape Freddie Prinze Jr.

See what I did there?

;)

Also, in terms of rape being funny, almost always it isn't. But on that rare occasion, when someone who actually deserves something like that, it is funny. Of course I'm talking about the scene from Little Nicky where Hitler is in hell and on a daily basis is sodomized with a pineapple courtesy of Satan. There's just a certain appropriateness about that in my opinion.

It's ironic because when he was alive, Hitler loved pineapples.

I'm trying to wonder what the difference between Black Widow and Maria Hill is going to be in this movie? I mean Widow probably would have served well as Fury's right hand and they could have opened up a slot for Wasp or another female Avenger on the team.

This movie SHOULD have Wasp and Giant Man in it. It's a bit of a travesty it won't. (at least as far as I know)

I think they probably just said, "Wait, there aren't enough hot girls in this movie! Who can we throw in without having to spend lots on special effects? Oh I know, Maria Hill!"

Maria Hill will be Fury's "right hand man" at the base while Widow is his in the field. Thus having different responsibilities that set them apart.

Just my guess.

Pretty much, Hill is with Fury andthe other SHIELD Agents, Widow is with the Avengers.

I can understand why Wasp and Pym aren't in the film too. The Avengers in the film made previous appearances in the Movie verse , Pym and Wasp haven't.

Also, didn't they want to do an Ant-Man movie?

Supposed to be by Simon Pegg and star three generations of Ant-Men.

Pym was mentioned in Thor though. The general idea was when SHIELD took all of their information and Selvig and Foster were talking about the organization Selvig referred to The Hulk incident and also stated he knew another doctor that worked with them. They were going to use Pym's name directly there but scrapped it. So close yet so far.

I thought that he was referencing Banner cause the mentioned scientist was the lead in gamma radiation and then disappeared when SHIELD got involved.

True, true. But It would have been rather difficult just bringing a hero into the movie, who hasn't even had her own movie to introduce her and show new fans, her back story.
Anyway, there have been rumours that Ant-man/ Giant man and Wasp are possibly going to have their own movie. ( they also say that it might be a comedy)

Meh. This is Hawkeyes first appearance in a movie. I think they could have been brought in the same way they were in the Ultimates, just as other Dr's working on super soldier program that Fury brought in. Their back story could have been expanded in following movies.

They are founding members in every incarnation of the team I can think of. It just seems wrong to not have them imo.

They are pointless characters, one shrinks and beats his wife, the other shrinks and takes a beating.

They aren't that impressive at all.

Fair enough.

Nevertheless I think they are an integral part of the story. To me leaving them out of the Avengers is akin to leaving the Human Torch out of the Fantastic Four. Not too mention, how do you get to one of the Avengers greatest villains, Ultron, without Pym?

So will they just not be called "Skrulls"?

And on the other, non-pessimist look on things-

one also grows and can smack down half an alien army with a swing of his arm and the other can shrink and kill you from the inside. Sounds helpful to me.

I'd think Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch would be much better additions to the group but I assume they're still owned by Fox so that won't be happening.

This is the same reason I'm pissed they can't use Namor or Doom as villains in the sequals. (I had a cool idea of those two convincing Loki and a corrupted Hulk to become a ultra threatening version of the Frightful Four).

They worked very well in Ultimates both as individual characters and in the grand scheme of things (how their drama fit in with everything else).
