That was the best part! Blaze's little quirks and eccentricities were what made the movie for me. He was a million times more interesting than in the comics just from the jelly beans alone. I'm almost positive they were all Cage's ideas too.

The worst part of the movie was Ghost Rider walking around making ridiculous puns.

Good point. The puns got on my nerves and the fact that he pointed at Mephisto about 50 times was annoying.
 
So, I saw this movie for the first time last night. It was actually pretty. good. I actually saw the unrated, extended, 127 minute edition, so I don't know how that compared to the original 110 minute theatrical version.

Anyway, like I said, it was pretty good. Not the best superhero movie, but still very entertaining. The dialogue was kinda silly sometimes, and the acting from some of the characters was sometimes really, really bad (specifically, I'm thinking of the police officer who says, "Up! He's going up!" If you remember that scene, you know what I'm talking about), but it was pretty good. I keep saying "pretty good" because it wasn't great, and it wasn't bad, it was just . . . pretty good.

I give it a 7.5/10.

By the way, how does the theatrical version compare to the extended cut? Better, worse, about the same? Just curious.
 
I have never seen Ghost Rider.

I often gloat about this fact.
 
During a recent interview, Taylor one of the Ghost Rider co-directors, said that "he never got the ghost rider comics" and that they are completely reinventing the character from the ground up for this sequel.

First of all IF YOU DON'T GET THE SOURCE MATERIAL DON'T TAKE A JOB DIRECTING A MOVIE BASED ON IT. It's not like Ghost Rider's a hard concept to "get", hard to pull off in a non-rediculous way sure, but come on it's not exactly a high-concept character.

Also if you're rebuilding everything with a new origin, why the hell are they keeping Cage, now I don't dislike Cage but Johnny Blaze is clearly not the role for him.

Did he mean he got them as a kid? Cause that would make much more sense.

Also I say keep Cage and Ghost Rider, the man's been trying to get into a superhero movie forever and I'd rather have him as Johnny Blaze than Clark Kent

Personally, I thought his performance as Big Daddy was perfect. In that warehouse scene, I was thinking to myself "Finally Nic Cage has been cast as a superhero in a good movie that's right for him." Pity they had to kill him off.

Ghost Rider just comes across as a desperate attempt on his part, though.
 
I... this is a parody trailer, right? There isn't... "I'm not afraid of you..." *thirty seconds later* "You should be... because of all the cliches. Also, did you see how many times I threw my chain in the trailer? About 120. And it's only 60 seconds long. Work that math out. Then feel the fear of my repetitive chain injury. Ba-dum-dish." And then... how does a skeleton pee? He has no genitals. I... I don't understand. Any of this. At all.

Is Ghost Rider a skeleton? I thought he just had a skull for a head but the rest of his body was normal (at least in the comics).

I always thought the same thing, but apparently h.e's all skeleton, to me. He does appear to have a skeletal hand. Anyway I like how the skull has a more charred look now. Not like how his jacket is lacking the spikes... it just looks... blah.

I am excited about Neveldine/Taylor directing. Sure the trailer seems over the top but these guys make over the top work
 
I saw the shot of the skeleton hand...I was talking about in the comics.
