I picked up book 1 from my library and was impressed. It's like Wonder Woman, but cooler. It's written by Alan Moore, and J.H. Williams III, who if I'm not mistaken, does the art for Desolation Jones.

I'm interested to read the further books, so does anyone have any information about them?

They're really good.

I'm still waiting for the 5th volume to come out as a trade, and not a hardback.

BANNED!

Yes, I enjoyed it. I'll have to "acquire" the rest.

Revive for Mooney, who recently bought the first trade and me, who recently got it out from the library again.

I'm downloading all of the issues now, if I like it a lot, I may buy all the trades (especially since the 5th one is coming out soon)

DSF and I have been waiting, hand in hand, like little school girls with big puppy dog eyes for the 5th trade of Promethea to come out in an affordable soft-back trade. Even more so since I read the final issue of Tom Strong which almost made me cry, it's so ****ing beautiful. I love Alan Moore. :please:

I finished the first arc again last night.

After I finish Fables, I'm definitely reading the rest of this.

After reading #7, and browsing at #32, I don't think I'm smart enough to fully comprehend this comic.

Alan Moore is a ****ing genius.

For a graduation/birthday present to a friend who loved Promethea more than anything ever, we all pitched in to get him all five Hardcover volumes of Promethea...

So I borrowed vol.5, and loved it immensely... Tom Strong and the Tomorrow People are in it... Its a very good ending... of the world.

I read the first six issues. This is ****ing amazing. That's all I can say. I think I'll have to read Tom Strong and The Tomorrow People as to get the full meaning of the end.

18 issues in.

This is some amazing deep ****.

I love it.

I didn't like Tom Strong or Tomorrow Stories. I couldn't get into them.

Obviously because you aren't as smart as the rest of us cool dudes.

Also, do you need to curse so much? Frankly, I'm offended.

Anyway, yeah. I completely loved this comic. Moore has a genius understanding of the medium. The stuff he does in Promethea could ONLY be done in a comic book. It's a piece of work that really relies on the medium. Even more than the story, I really dug the art and the layout. It's a total magnum opus... Or something. Also, I like Promethea's boobies.

It's edited.

It's just stars. I'll try to watch it but no promises.

There are just words dude.

Your use of the word "boobies" offends me tremendously.

To retaliate, I shall utter the word buttsex.

...

Buttsex.

...

Now, back to the series...

One of the Promethea's was a gay man, another of them was a lesbian.

So shut your pie-hole.

I think my favorite issues have been the sex one and issue 18.

Not because it was porngraphic, but it was beautifully written. Just the way it was crafted was intense.

And the issue with them in the land of mars. The place of universal will and universal fire. That was a great issue, plus I love the guardian angel.
