Super Mario (and Nintendo Business)

Because Waluigi's an interesting character, with not enough exposure.

If feathers give the Mario Brothers capes to fly with, what if there were power ups that gave them other superhero personas?

well, there already is the tanooki (racoon) suit, and the frog suit, and... the shoe.

plus the hats, never forget the hats.

mario has a terrifying array of wearable powers, and that's not even talking about his GED or plumbing apprenticeship.

I say the mario franchise is more adult than games like GTA , manhunt and others.

Here's why :

  • Magic mushrooms
  • plants that make him pale and invisible when he's not.
  • animal cruelty (killing innocent turtles)
  • A mushroom with a face who can talk. If that's not horror movie worthy what is?
  • 2 plumbers dating princesses? It's like something out of a porno "Oh gee i sure am happy these two plumbers showed up"
  • Dinosaurs carrying babies , eating eggs and pooping. Even in jurassic park the dinosaurs never actually caught the kids.
  • Bowser is a king and mario goes in to castles and attacks him? That's raciest due to bowser been a different race.
  • If killing the turtles wasn't enough he then plays with the corpse by kicking it around.
  • Violence to children! If racest attacks on their father was not enough mario then beats up Bower's children!
  • Mario steals THAT''S RIGHT STEALS coins that innocent people have hidden away in secret locations like blocks.
  • It has ghosts. Big ones as well
  • Mario Kart is filled with road rage like throwing things at other drivers
  • Mario strikers lets you throw weapons at players.

theres more too but I'll leave you with that

:)lol: joking by the way incase people think i'm been serious)

Those don't count.
At least if Mario/Luigi had atomic powers they could turn one substance into another, or cahnge the atomic structure of something, generate atomic blasts, or genrate weapons.
Or with acid powers, Mario/Luigi could dissolve things or melt their enemies.

If the Mario Bros. are plumbers why don't they make actual plumbng games?

I think one of the cool things about Mario Bros. is that they aren't superheroes, especially in the latest releases... they're just jumping dudes with cool flowers and leaves and hats and capes...

I don't think either of those would fit the style of Mario's gameplay.

Although, considering he's now going into space, I guess anything's possible. . .

They did. Gyromite wasn't that awesome.

Mario Bros. was a plumbing game-Mario and Luigi exterminated pests jumping out of pipes in a basement. They should update this game.

Super Mario Sunshine, could be one, I guess-Mario had a FLUDD.
They should make a 2-player sequel.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympics for the Wii is a reality-it made the cover of Nintendo Power.

Why don't they make games with teenaged or college-aged versions of the Mario Bros.?

Why were the Zelda games a big deal?

those do count. the hats especially. metal cap gives him colossus' powers, wing cap allows flight, and the vanish cap allows invisiblity/walking through some walls.

acid powers? what?

they really kindof did... the first super mario bros. took place with them killing vermin in the sewers... i think that's as close as you're going to get for mario mario and luigi mario :p

they already have baby versions PLUS that would be really, really stupid.

really.

Why were the Zelda games a big deal?

for one, they were some of the first real adventure games, with the open-endedness and use of items and alternate weapons. plus, the first one, with secret z-e-l-d-a unlockable quest? terrific.

also: play link to the past, ocarina of time, majora's mask, and twilight princess. that's why they're a big deal.

I'm not talking about Super Mario Bros.-I'm talking about Mario Bros.:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Bros.

Mario and Luigi exterminate pests in a Brooklyn basement.

Here's a screenshot:

http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/mario-bros/screenshots/gameShotId,31411/

They were also in Wrecking Crew:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrecking_Crew_(video_game)

Which has been updated in the late 1990's.

They had alternate versions of "Mario Bros." in Some of the Super Mario Bros. games-but the game itself should have been updated.

I think some of the SMB games that weren't widely released in the US should have been:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_Bros._Special

and

Vs. Super Mario Bros.
One alternate version, Vs. Super Mario Bros., is nearly a separate game in its own right. This game, one of several games made for Nintendo's NES-based arcade cabinet, the Nintendo Vs. Unisystem (and its variant, the Nintendo Vs. Dualsystem), is based on Super Mario Bros., and has identical gameplay. The stages are different, however; the early stages are subtly different, with small differences like the omission of 1-up mushrooms or other hidden items, but later stages are changed entirely. (Many of these later, changed stages reappeared in the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2.) These changes have a net effect of making Vs. Super Mario Bros. much more difficult than the original Super Mario Bros.

Am I the only one who thinks SMB continuity is screwed up because Nintendo decided to release the version of SMB II that was based on Doki Doki Panic first, instead of the Japanese version of SMB II, which was identical to the first SMB game?

I've heard of New Super Mario Bros. but what is the point? Are they going to make sequels?
