The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - Your Team

Here we go

As everyone else has said, the League will be run by an old Indiana Jones, he is the one who will gather the team together.

Now, on to the main players.

First off, John McClane, the hero of the Die Hard movies, will be recruited as Indiana Jones bodyguard at the beginning. Set at the end of the third movie, John's life went further into the ****ter, until he finally got kicked off the police squad. Thinking his life has gone downhill, he decides to answer a want ad, which leads him to Indy, and his role as a bodyguard.

The next character would be Daniel "Oz" Osbourne. Indy would recruit him, because the team would need a tracker, and someone who can release a beast when needed. Years have been kind to Oz, who raised a family, and lived with his werewolf curse for a majority of his adulthood without it getting out of control. Then, one night, a witch activated his curse, sending him out of control. He slaughtered his family. Indy brings with him the promise of finding out who did that to him, and why.

Traveling to recruit a vampire, Spike, the trio find out he's been kidnapped. One the way to rescue him, they run into a zombie slayer, with a chainsaw hand, known as Ashley J. "Ash" Williams. they arrive in time to save Spike, but he refuses to be part of the team, instead he tries to deal with his new lease on life.

Indy now leads them to a Burrow in the hills of England, to recruit the newest member, Ginevra "Ginny" Molly Weasley. She has been on a search to find out what happened to Harry Potter in the final battle between him and the dark warlock Voldemort. Strapped to her back is the mystical sword that once belonged to Gryffindor himself, she never uses it, and only brings it out when she wishes to think about Harry. Strong in her own right, and not riddled with self doubt, she'll add a strong female personality to the team.

While traveling to a pub in London, the team witnesses a flash of lightning on a clear day. Investigating, the find a headless body, and a man, struggling to stand up, with lightning wrapping around him. Indy correctly identifies him as Duncan MacLeod, and someone he wished to recruit. The Highlander joins the crew, bringing centrueis of knowledge that Spike was to be for.

In a pub in London, they met up with the last member, the eccentric Doctor Who, who is the true maker of the group. He was the one who sent Indy out to collect everyone.

Very cool - I think I'd have to ammend my pitch to include Ash and The Highlander, for sure.
 
I was toying with the idea that Indy was just another personality of Doctor Who, considering both of them want to spread knowledge and save the timeline, Indy thorugh history, and Doctor Who through his time traveling.

I wanted a Buffy character, but not Buffy or Giles, so I toyed with Spike. I figured the team wouldn't need him, and he wouldn't need the team, then I thought of Oz, and I figured he would be a great addition.

Ash, for his campy look on life.

John as a bodyguard excited me to no end.

And Ginny, looking to find out what actually happened to Harry was a nice reversal of their roles, it's usually Harry looking to find out what happened to Ginny


I'll have to come up with a story for this.

So this thread rules. I've told my TOG my ideas for a modern League and for a 1960/1970 League and I just gave him some of my ideas for a League made up of PS2 characters.

I really need to type this stuff up.
 
PS2 Era Characters

The story opens with Calypso in meeting with Osmund Saddler, leader of the Los Illuminados. A splinter group of The Order. Calypso tells him of a weapon that will bring about the end of mankind.

Shift to another scene in the home of Lara Croft. She is attacked by the Cult of Kagan, a vampire cult. She is almost killed but is saved by a red head vampire by the name of Rayne, but the cult escapes and steals the Excalibur sword she recovered at the end of Legends.

Another scene shifts to an agency of government giving a case to the assassin Agent 47. His target is a serial killer on the loose in a small town of South Ashfield. About a half of day's drive from Silent Hill. The only name given is Sweet Tooth

In a undisclosed location, we find the mercanary, Solid Snake investigating a call he received after a college, Gabriel Logan, disappeared after investigating another threat of the Syphon Filter virus. He finds Gabe slaughtered and a notebook in his hands. In it says that it wasn't the Syphon Virus that was here but something called the T-Virus made by the Umbrella Corporation. He then finds a group of savages feeding of humans. They attack but he fights off most of them and escapes into the street. Snake then runs into a Nemesis. He tries to fight it but bullets are having no effect. He is than saved by a man on a motorcycle. He has white hair and a red trenchcoat. He shots a rocket into the chest of the Nemesis and he explodes. He introduces himself as Dante.

In Paris, Jacques Blanc and a team of French miliarty find a man as broke into thier headquarters. Kazuya Mishima who is now fully consumed by the Devil, is found stealing something in the archives. Before they can attack, another man shows ups and attacks him. The man is knocked down. They attack while Jacques attends to the knocked down man. Who says his name is Jin. Kazuya defeats the team with easy. He then summons a bunch of no armed creatures (Silent Hill). to fight them. Jacques then sees his arm glowing and the Oni Gauntlet that he lost years ago, returns. He summons his whip and slashings the demons. Kazuya escapes leaving only a post card from Silent Hill.

In the town of Silent Hill we find Calypso and Osmund. They are approached by The Cult Of Kagan, who give them the sword they stole eariler.

In the nearby town South Ashfield, we find Sweet Tooth slaughtering more people. 47 tracks him down and attacks him. Sweet Tooth overpowers him and throws him though a wall. Sweet Tooth escapes and tells him to meet him in Silent Hill. 47 then finds and hotwires a car and heads to Silent Hill.

We then find Snake and Dante on a highway. They pass a sign that says 25 miles to Silent Hill. Dante tells Snake that he as heard connections in the underworld of something big happening there. They are attacked by a pack of Colmillos as they drive around a bend. This caused Dante to serve off the road and smashes into a tree. Dante attacks the wolfs. Dante and the wolfs are at a standstill in the street when a car comes around the bend and hits the wolfs. The car screeches to a stop and Agent 47 gets out. Agent 47 and Snake are aware of each other.

In Silent Hill, Calypso and Osmund starting a ritual with the sword. Calypso mentions that this isn't the normal swords shape, that it has been disguised. Then they are joined by Kazuya. Who gives them the remains of the Brainstern (Onimusha). He gives them to Calypso who puts them a jar and sets them in the circle with the sword. He mentions that these demon remains has time displacement energy on it and it will help summon the weapon from time. They start to chat and than appears the Soul Edge. Who Kazuya picks him and feels the power in it. Calypso metions this is only part of the plan for Armageddon and they must head for the Tomb. Soon the door are ripped open with vampires flying though. Followed by Rayne and Lara. Who attack them. Kazuya easy fights them off with the Soul Edge.

Next Sweet Tooth interrupts them. Calypso wants to know why he is here. Sweet Tooth simply says he goes where there is carnage. Rayne attacks ST and they fight for awhile when they are joined by 47, Snake, and Dante plus more cult vampires. Dante attacks Kazuya and a big sword fight with his own demon sword, the Force Edge, and the Soul Edge. Kazuya gains the upperhand but is shot at by Snake. Calypso, Kazuya and Osmund take off in a hurry and leave the Excalibur sword. Dante then joins the fight between Rayne and Sweet Tooth, killing him. Dante than finds the Excalibur and notices the hidden power in it. Lara takes it from him. Lara also metions that they are ending to a tomb of some kind. Sweet Tooth, who hasn't fully died yet apparently, tells them that they are heading to the Tomb Of The Forgotten God and that the carnage will be grand. They asked how he know all this and tells him that he found a killed one of Osmund followers.

Jin and Jacques arrive via helicopter in Silent Hill. They are soon attacked by demons and such. They defeat a lot of them and Jacques is sucking the souls into his Gauntlet. They are soon found and joined by the rest of the team. They fight off the rest them and escape in the helicopter. Lara tells them she knows of someone to help. On the way Dante hits on Rayne and Lara. Jim also exmains the Excalibur. Who they find it reacting to Jacques' Gauntlet. He uses the soul to infuse it turning it into the Soul Calibur.

They travel to Carthage, Missouri. To a huge mansion. Lara knocks on the door and a bulter answers the door. He leads them in and there is WW2 memorabilia all over the place. They enter a room to find a 88 year old man in a chair. Lara introduces him as General James Steven Patterson. She asks him of the Tomb. He tells her that he has heard of the Forgotten God. The tomb is rumored to be hiddened in one of the small islands off the coast of Greece, He gives them a map and metions that it isn't easy to translate. Lara tells him that he has nothing to worry about. As they are leaving, He mentions to Rayne that she looks like a woman he fought along side with in WW2. She tells him that she enjoyed there time together and leaves.

They make their way to the island and find the temple. It is guarded by all sorts of demons from the Resident Evil and Silent Hill games. Dante, Jacques, Rayne, and Jin all keep the monsters busy. Lara, Snake, and 47 sneak into the temple and confront the evil trio who are standing over a tomb with the Soul Edge jabbed though it. They say they are too late. The forgotten God of War will awaken. Kratos will walk the earth again. The ground shakes and energy starts flying everywhere. They are joined by the others by now. One of the energy beams hits the Oni Gauntlet and creates a portal which a man falls though. Jacques calls the man's name, Samanosuke. He looks confused but see's Jacques and only speaks Japanese. Jin translate and explains the situation.

Soon the tomb spilts and Kratos is standing there pissed off. Calypso tells that they brought him back to rage chaos and war on this world. Kratos tells him that they shouldn't of bought him back and cuts off the head of both Calypso and Osmond with his blades. Kazuya takes off running, Jin goes after him weilding the Soul Calibur. They have a huge battle with the swords with Jin killing Kazuya.

While that is happening Dante, Jacuques, and Samanosuke attack Kratos who defeats them quick. 47 and Snake fire bullets and bullets and him but he just brushes them all. Dante gets back up and changes to demon form and the other two become Onimushas. They attack Kratos and hold there own.

Lara, Snake, and 47 hold off the zombie horde closing in.

The three of them combine thier powers and kill Kratos.

That's exceptional. My favourite one so far. I like how you limited yourself to only PS2 characters.

I think Patterson should live in a castle from Castlevania. He should also show Dante to his weapons cabinet, which would include weapons from various other games like Cloud's sword and Squall's gunblade He tells Dante they are trophies from his journeys to other worlds and gives Dante the keyblade, which he later uses to defeat Kratos.
 
Seems like an interesting thing, and did I know anything about PS2 games/characters, I might be really impressed.

Now, add Judy Nails or Lars Ümlaüt from Guitar Hero and I'll hop onboard!
 
I'd have a 1930's team made up of American Pulp heroes like Doc Savage and The Shadow or The Spider. Throw in an older G-8, maybe Tarzan and Secret Operator #5. Volume 1 would be the team being assembled to fight some kind of crime organization setting itself up in New York City, and would have all sorts of shenanigans with Dick Tracey and whoever.

Then Volume 2 could be set during World War II, with the team fighting Nazis and giant Doomsday weapons powered by Satan himself. That would be neat.


I'd have a British team in the 1960's made up of James Bond, The Doctor, and Emma Peel and John Steed from The Avengers. The plot would revolve around them investigating an island where secret agents from various agencies have disappeared to. They find the man in charge is Number Six from The Prisoner, now Number Two. He's gone insane and believes that MI6 was behind the entire Village. He attempts to launch nuclear missiles at certain locations around the world, and maybe some of them work, starting a world war. The League eventually stop him, and the island is bought by a Mr. Hammond working for INGEN.

The British Government saw Number Two as a terrorist threat, which is why they sent the League to eliminate him (which parallels the original LoEG story). As the story goes on, they become more powerful, and as the world turns to war, the situation from V For Vendetta slowly evolves, which is what Volume 2 would be about. V vs. Britain vs. The League.


I'd also have an American League which takes over after the Pulp heroes have all died out. They'd be made up of iconic American film heroes, such as Indiana Jones, Marty McFly, a Ghostbuster etc. Maybe through in the Six Million Dollar Man just for fun. I can imagine the plot being something like how Doc Brown ends up in the future, where he witnesses the Apocalypse. He manages to leave behind a message for Marty, who takes one of the vehicles and completes a quest to gather a group of Extraordinary Gentlemen to counter this Apocalypse. This would involve him travelling through time to gather up Indiana Jones from the 40's, Six Million Dollar Man from whenever his show was set, a Ghostbuster from whenever they were set etc. etc. This one is limitless, as he could simply snatch people from time who would be suitable for the battle. Yet they don't know what form the Apocalypse will take and as it slowly leaks into the modern world (it takes the form of chaos and destruction, such as Tyler Durden's Project: Mayhem) it is later revealed that the Apocalypse revolves around a very special being: Hellboy. The League have to defeat Hellboy before he gives into the evil ways and destroys the world.

I love the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I only know the other ones by names. But I didn't know half of Moore's League and it still rocked.

You need to post the one about Dr.Langdon and Hannibel Lector.

I don't remember much about that one, as it was just trying to get the big names people know from today's modern popculture. It's funny that it shares the same Apocalyptic future plot that my other one I just posted did. Maybe there are two teams going on at the same time?

I'll try and remember what happened in that Lector/Langdon one and post it.
