Blackest Night discussion (Spoilers!)

Re: Blackest Night (general discussion)

You people have ruined my thread.

I would kill you all but you'd probably come back as Black Lanterns.

Re: Blackest Night (general discussion)

How'd you see 0 already? Isn't it coming out for free comic day?

It is....around... :shifty:

And, do you think this is something I'd be able to follow without reading Green Lantern up to this point? Or will I be lost?

Zombipanda is right - it's really hard to say at this point. I would think that the concept of Black Lanterns would make more sense in the context of the other Lanterns, and the stories leading up to this are REALLY good and definitely worth checking out if you can.

Yeah, so I've heard. sigh. razza frazza completism.

Well, if you want to be a completist with it, you should start with Green Lantern: Rebirth move on through Johns' whole run, through Sinestro Corps and pick up the whole run on Green Lantern Corps, but if I were to personally recommend a reading list to you, it would be much smaller. I only started picking up Green Lantern with the Sinestro Corps story, and while it was fun, I felt like it was somewhat over-rated. And GLC is getting a lot of buzz, but honestly, I feel like the writing is just average and the art is horrible.

I'd suggest, if you really feel like reading some background material, to just pick up the back issues following Sinestro Corps. That alone should give you a pretty strong basis for anything that might come up in the story.

Did he just diss Patrick Gleason... I think it's time to beat someone into a fine paste.

I'm sorry! I don't care for it. I don't regularly pick up the book, but the issues I have picked up, the art has seemed muddy, and the panels are frequently confusingly out of focus. I think when he pulls back and has the opportunity to do nice, wide shots, it's much better, but I just don't really care for it....

Tomasi writing scripts doesn't help much either.

I've never had that problem with GLC, it's not spectacular, but it's a fairly solid book.

Re: Blackest Night (general discussion)

I like GLC - the writing and the art. There are some people who think it is better than the main title.
