All About Music Games (Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Whathaveyou)

I think they were making up for not having albums in January and February, before that they had an album a month, I imagine they'll go back to one a month now.

ALLMAN BROS!

anywho here's the Rock Band: The Beatles two available guitars Lennon's Rickenbaker, an Harrison's Grestch, the real guitars posted with them are for comparison (the controllers are the ones on the bottom)

Well it's official

Activision has announced 4 more games from the "Hero" franchise due out by the end of the year

Guitar Hero 5 (working title): True sequel in the franchise will feature the ability to have band members jump in and out of songs on the fly and the ability to change difficulty levels on the fly

Guitar Hero: Van Halen: Much like the Aerosmith and Metallica games will feature predominantly Van Halen songs also said to include something from Weezer and something from Queen

Band Hero: aimed at the E10+ crowd much like Lego Rock Band

DJ Hero: New-peripheral a turn-table, aimed at the techno/rap/motown/whatever crowd, no support for Guitar/Drums/Mic

adding Smash Hits and Metallica to the list that make 6 (!) games this year, I gotta say Activision is going a little overboard, they're going to burnout the niche if they're not careful.

Also word broke out about some sort of Pearl Jam project from Rockband, word is the setlist will be chosen by the live tracks played the most over Rhapsody, no word if it's a Beatles like game, a AC/DC like pack, or a dlc pack. This seems a little strange since they just released Ten on DLC, while the 3 bonus tracks from pre-ordering that anniversery edition of Ten haven't been released to the public yet.

I wasn't as excited for this game as i once was. I'd still like to get it, but the lack of syncronicity with other rock band games makes this hard to pick. Call me lazy but if I'm in the mood to play Nine In The Afternoon right after Hey Bulldog, damnit why not?

AWESOME, and for a 10$ fee you can copy the entire set-list into Rock Band 2, playable David Bowie and Iggy Pop minifigs. Plus all DLC that passes the E-10+ can be played in LRB.

Also a Queen 10-Pack is coming next week for RB2, and the rest of Abbey Road is next week for TBRB, complete with the option to play the entire B-Side medley as one 16 minute track.

Question, because I'm not clear on how all of this works: If I get Beatles Rock Band, will I be able to use downloaded Rock Band tracks (add-ons) with it?

Beatles Rock Band is an island of Rock that can't be reached by any other music.

Rock Band 2 can play all non-Beatles Rock Band DLC, plus you can import most of the play-list from RB1 and the upcoming RB:Lego

Rock Band 1 can play all non-Beatles Rock Band DLC.

Rock Band LEGO will be able to play all non-Beatles Rock Band DLC rated 10+ or lower, keeping it a kid-friendly play-list.

Awesome. Thanks.

Maybe the thing to do would be to get Rock Band 2 with the instruments since it would be cheaper than Beatles Rock Band with instruments, then just get the Beatles Rockband game by itself.

What's up with DJ Hero?

Guitar Hero for black people.

when shaggy said you can import most or RB1's set-list into RB2, he means all the set-list except for 3 songs (Paranoid cover, Enter Sandman, and Run to the Hills cover)

Run to the Hills has been rereleased with the master track.

The thing to do would Buy Rock Band 2's bundle, then buy a RB1 guitar seperate if you want to do the whole 4 man band thing.

Then rent Rock Band 1 you don't need to buy it to copy the songs just need to have the disc for a total of 5 minutes, cash in the 20 bonus songs for Rock Band 2, DL the 4 freebies, then you've practically doubled your song count for maybe 15 dollars (RB1 rental + the cost of downloading the import key from PSN/XBL)

then pick up RBTB

And, for maximum fun, make sure you have 3 mics for The Beatles Rock Band. Performing the harmonies has been VERY fun.
