Astonishing X-Men discussion (spoilers)

Only one thing wrong with it tho. The team needs Nightcrawler!

Not with the current NC. He's still trapped in that mysterious love-cube thing going on over in Uncanny :?

With who? I dont read uncanny, but Nightcrawlers one of my fav. charactes. Move the whole cube to Astonishing if you have to. I want Nightcrawler in the X comic that i read

Its quite bizarre. This will take a moment.

He kisses Rachel in the Danger Room. He has feelings for Rachel. He dates Storm randomly. He has feelings for Storm. Rachel wants to know about Kurt but knows he has feelings for Ororo, Ororo is blind and deaf and doesn't know Kurt has feelings for her but she is kissing Wolverine on the side. Wolverine almost certainly knows whats going on with everyone else but is also after Storm. Oh and I forgot before that just recently, the way they are writing X-23 she is turning into another one of Logan's underage groupies. So its sort of a star now. Please don't bring them to Astonishing, it would swamp the other cast members. Except Kitty who would simply go back to being a Logan groupy and a Storm fangirl. Keep them where they are, contained in a horrible sub-plot in Uncanny.

How about we kill storm :)D) move Wolverine exclusively to Avengers :)D) and let Nightcrawler get his mack on with Rachel in Astonishing :)D)

a) Storm would only come back. Probably in Excalibur. According to Claremont's brain, Storm is, always will be and will remain the greatest leader the X-men have ever had.

b)Please god please. Nobody in the bloody x-books really wants him anyway

c) Thats a good phrase for it. Personally though, I'd rather bring back Cerise or reintroduce that Kymri girl he was married to in X-men The End than having him schlepping Rachel. Just so Rachel can die. She's not even her own character anymore, just a washed out Jean Grey copy.

I would actually like to see Nightcrawler with Shadowcat. but im going off my own topic here, lol.

I think the art on this book is fantastic. I'm absolutely stoked that Whedon is doing more issues but I'm just as happy that Cassaday is staying with him for them

After a lengthly debate over whether to get it or not, I finally got Astonishing X-Men V1 after Ice and Ultimate E's high recommendation.

Cool - glad you got it and like it. It's one of my favorite books, and Cassaday has a lot to do with that.

Speak for yourself, Caddy. Besides, you know that will never happen, no matter how much anyone wishes. He's great here in Astonishing.

Whedons doing an amazing job with this group. But I would love to see what he and Cassady could do with Nightcrawler. I am really enjoying this tho. I wanted to get this in single issues now but i cant find #7 :( so i gonna get the second arc in TPB then get singles. I gonna miss Ice's letter tho :(:(:(

He's the weakest character in this book by far. All he does is start fights, have fights and drink beer. There's no point to him being there now the Cyclops-Jean-Logan triangle has been dealt with. I WANT HIM DEAD

I know its not going to happen but I can dream.

I'm pretty sure Logan will only be in Astonishing and New Avengers during/after this summer. I like him being limited to those teams, but I'm sure he'll make plenty of guest appearances :(. Oh well, at least I got Bets back.

Hey can someone tell me what happened in the new issue of Astonishing X-men.
I got the Gifted story arc but I'm not getting the second one because I'm spending way to much money on comics so I'm trying to cut back. I may be wrong cause I haven't read the new issues yet but couldn't the spy be Cassandra Nova. At the end of New X-men Scott and Hank went to go check if she was still captured in the mansion after it was destoryed and they just left that hanging.

Fine, you guys want a better issue summary, here:

The issue starts off with Wing's hand showing, and blood flowing from his body. Two guys seem to have found something, quickly revealed to be a broken down Sentinel coming from what seems an old wooden barn. Emma, with the Cuckoos behind her, hears something. The Danger Room's door goes all electricky, and all the psychics are knocked out. Cyclops and the rest of the X-Men take the psychics, plus the no-eyed woman from the last issue, and start heading away from where they were.

Cyclops tries to talk to Emma, but she doesn't respond. Then it looks like someone is talking TO Emma saying:

"Hear him? You can't shut him up!

Don't worry, lamb, I'm cloaked. I'm not about to give our little game so soon....

But honestly, since for once you can't actually interrupt, I have to ask...

Summers? Really?

I know you wanted to cement your standing in the group, but if that geek was sharing my bed...

...I think I'd try not to wake up."

Then the broken down Sentinel drags itself to the X-Mansion. Agent Brand, the woman who was 'working' with S.H.I.E.L.D. last arc, gets a file saying the taps they have on the X-Mansion are offline, and that they're mole is not responding.

As the X-Men chat about trying to call for some help, thinking someone is doing an attack on them. Lockheed shows up and leads them outside to something that he found. The Sentinel had arrived. It kept attacking the X-Men, destroying the gate and throwing it at the mansion, and then Scott orders Kitty to get all the kids into the danger room. Scott, Colossus, and Wolverine stay to fight the Sentinel, but are not getting very far in defeating it. Then the Sentinel shot his beam and destroyed a part of the mansion. Then Scott actually acts like Logan being SUPER mad and all, and takes off his visor, shoots at the Sentinel down.

With Kitty and the kids in the Danger Room, they found the recent dead Wing, the kid who killed himself trying to fly again, after he lost his mutant powers. Then another kid realizes that the exit to the room is GONE!

As Wolverine puts his finishing touches on destroying the Sentinel, he kept hearing it say:

"My Lord is watching you.

She knows what you're doing.

She tells me the children will pay for the father's sins.

And I must not fear death."

Then Wolverine finishes it at last.

Kitty tried to feel around for an exit out of the Danger Room with her hand, but could not find any. So she tells the kids to not do anything will she went to look for one. That's when Wing came alive, all zombie like and arms and legs twisted, saying that she should take her time, because he was going to kill all the kids.

Colossus, in his armored form, could not open the door to the Danger Room. Scott had said the point of that was when there was an attack, people would be safe in the Danger Room, since it was unbreachable. That's when he realized that what they did, was what the villain wanted them to do. He thought he locked the kids in the Danger Room with the villain. But then Emma, awake again, told him:

"No Scott.

Our enemy us not in the Danger Room.

It IS the Danger Room.

The Danger Room is angry."

I saw this a while ago and it sparked a huge debate as to whether it was Emma or Kitty. So many people were convinced it was Emma and I personally could never see why. The figure is dressed like Kitty which is the biggest clincher. I've never seen Emma in something that wasn't skin tight or fur (which doesn't flap in the wind quite so well)
