Seven Soldiers Dreamcast Part One
Zatanna – Jessica Biel
This is subject to change. I think Biel fits, but I don't think she's entirely right for the part. I'll figure out whether I want to change it in a bit.
Klarion The Witch-Boy – Unknown
Klarion should be between 13 and 16, and there isn't a single kid I can think of who could pull off the outright creepiness and downright ecstasy of discovering the great big world beyond Limbo Town. But the kid is out there somewhere.
Frankenstein – Ron Perlman
Ron Perlman would be perfect in this role. Mickey Rourke could do a good job, but at the end of the day, Perlman's a better actor overall… Plus it'll help that he's used to the prosthetics he'll have to use in the role.
Shining Knight – Nora Zehetner
Nora has that boyish look to her that would obviously play to her advantage towards the beginning of the film where she is under disguise as a man. She's also a fantastic actress.
Lancelot – Viggo Mortensen
Viggo is perfect for this role, not only after playing a variation of the character in LotR, but because he has this undercurrent of darkness that would play perfectly into the reemergence of the character as the tool of Gloriana against Sir Ystin.
Manhattan Guardian – Romany Malco
Malco needs to get more recognition in the next few years, he was great in 40 Yr Old Virgin and is consistently great in Weeds, both with the dramatic and comedic material.. and this is the role that could really get him out there, and to top it all off, he'd fit damn near perfectly.
Ed Stargard – Ed Asner
Obviously this would mostly just be the voice, and I think Ed Asner's voice from the deformed Ancient Baby Brain's body, issuing commands to The Newsboy's Army and the Manhattan Guardian would be beyond perfect.
Mister Miracle – Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
Let me go into this a bit, since I got yelled at a bit for implying that Shia LeBeouif wouldn't be a good choice because he wasn't black, because I think it runs a bit different than that. Shilo Norman isn't the wacky crazy talkative celebrity that I think Shia would turn him into… He's the self-assured, carefree, celebrity whose picture is on the walls of various High School Girls… The Rock isn't that great when he's not essentially playing himself, but this role would be beyond perfect for him… The Super-Celebrity who ends up escaping Death, and helping to save the world, overcoming his own superficiality when he has to face all the negativity in his life.
