You know what....now that I read all them back to back----not really.

I'm so not jumping on E's "We Hateses Teh Civil War" bandwagon....but I just read 7 issues and not a damn thing has happened. Without the tie-ins---it's incomprehensive and incomplete.

At least with House of M you could get by on just the core book. But you can't with Civil War.





McNiven's art and a few cool moments aside----the more I think about it---the more Civil War has failed to deliver.

So what will happen if the Anti reg win? Seriously, how they will change the law? They will threaten the congress or something? Even if they have a good plan, they can't do it in just 10 pages (I'm counting the fight).

That's really the only thing saving this. It's more cheese than anything else. It's like watching the "Charlie's Angels" movies. Both are bollocks.....but both have some cool moments and are pretty to look at.

I always knew it was going to be stupid going into it. The idea is stupid, and the execution was stupid. It's just another event so Marvel can get money. I don't understand why people were expecting brilliance.

NRAMA: And what came first, this idea of transforming this character, or the need for that first issue catalyst from CW #1?

JQ: That's tough to say because while I've joked about Speedball for a while now, I really wanted to see something cool done with the character. When Mark selected the New Warriors to be the catalyst for Civil War, that's when I saw an opportunity to do something interesting with Speedball. So, it was serendipitous in that sense. But that's the beauty of something like Civil War, you find yourself with many happy accidents.

NRAMA: So just so we understand correctly, not only will Penance be putting himself through agony every time he suits up and uses his powers, but he'll also be slowing killing himself in the process?

JQ: Well, I'm not going to reveal everything for right now, but yes, that suit he wears is basically an Iron Maiden, so it's going to hurt a lot and fans will know when it's hurting, trust me.

NRAMA: Why? In Frontline #10, he doesn't seem overly remorseful to the father of the child he killed. Nor to Reed Richards. He seems angry at the world, so why do this to himself? Is the point some twisted idea of atonement, or is he simply off his rocker at this stage?

JQ: My money is on a little of both. When people in the real world are confronted with things of the nature that Robbie has been confronted with, jail for instance, near death experiences, etc., they tend to gravitate to different extremes. As an example, many inmates find religion in jail and they find great comfort in it, this isn't something that is out of the realm of possibility. So, to me, Robbie has had a life altering experience. Do you think that when he first became a superhero, when he first joined the New Warriors, that he ever expected that his life would end up where it is right now? I don't think any of us ever expected it and now here we are.

Also, Penance, going forward has a very interesting origin from the very onset. He was once a happy go lucky, bright and shiny teen hero and now he's something completely different. Where does he go from here will be a lot of fun to watch.

They just really screwed him up. I wasnt a fan of him because I didn't know of him, but just reading this is just...**** it.

CW #6 was also very good, but on some pages, the art wasn't totally up to speed with the rest of the series.

Me too. I wasn't going to start getting Thunderbolts, but after seeing the six page preview (Deodato's art looks better than ever) and reading Front Line #10, I've decided to hop on the bandwagon.

I liked when Robbie had that hood on; it sort of reminded me of Anakin in Episode III.

I like where they are taking Speedball.

I think I do too. It's certainly better than having him be Speedball, which was a retarded character.

The points of pain on his costume and the explanation behind it were interesting.

However, I can't really force myself to feel like it's Robbie Baldwin's fault. No moreso than any of the others on the show. All the blame...it's just too forced. It's not like he's the one who blew up. And he certainly didn't force anyone to.

Yeah, it's pretty weak. I would never feel responsible if I were him (although I would take the registration deal before going to jail). I like how he talked to the kid's dad. I would have probably even been harsher to him. The dude frickin' shot him for nothing he did.

Um, anyway. I thought Civil War was meh. I just kind of want to get it over with. As pointless, over-hyped, and error-filled Disassembled and House of M were, at least they only took four months.

The last few pages were kind of funny. "You're screwed, Cap!" "Nuh uh, you're screwed!" "Nuh uh, you are!" "No, you are!" Well, it seemed that way, anyway.

Also, this new crossover we're appearantly going to get soon is pretty much the last straw with me. I'mn tired of these stupid mega event things. I'm gonna... I'm gonna...! Well, I'm going to buy it and complain, that's what I'm going to do! Yeah!

And is anyone else glad Typeface is dead?

Why would anyone be glad Typeface is dead? He was an obscure charactre that could have easily faded away and never been seen again. He wasn't hurting anyone. Besides, it wasn't definite that he died. He just "looked dead."

I hate when characters die, especially these obscure ones (less chance of them returning), and so pointlessly. Why shouldn't they be around in case anyone wants to use them later?
