I find it funny how the final scene of #6 showed both sides ready to pounce and how eager everyone is ready to roll their eyes because of it leading up to a fight between both sides. Do you honestly think Millar just gives up by 7 and says well they're going to fight and that's all. Cmon' guys when has Millar collectively let us down yet?
and even if there is a big fight (which I for one hope there is for the entire first half of the issue), no one can blame Millar for a good vs. good and then later they come together cliche.
And I sort've have a problem with Tigra being in that position right there. It just makes the page look a bit more goofy and distracts from the rest of what's going on. Any other hero there would've been better off.

So, I'm caught up almost completely on Civil War and the tie-ins and I'm really pretty disappointed. Is anyone else feeling this way?

But to be serious, I think it's interesting because thinking of what it could be just gives me ideas that seem good.

It's not that Civil War itself is bad - it's not, really. But it is so overhyped for what we've gotten out of it. I hope that the last issue delivers and that we don't get another House of M. But so far - not worth the hype.
And Clor was kind of dumb too.

But despite it being a horrible decision from editorial... Rereading House of M, I've liked it a LOT better than Civil War.
The universe it creates is more interesting, the conflicts are more interesting... I know it didn't pay off, but it works very well as a stand alone event, almost like a What-if? story...
Civil War is well written, but the characterizations are totally off, and unexplained, especially Tony Stark, and overloaded it with plot. Bendis has the absolute opposite problems... he got the characterizations down and totally decompressed it, making it frustrating to read as a monthly.
I'm not sure how well Civil War will stand up to time... while I gaurentee they'll revisit the House of M universe one day.

I would say that the tie-ins are one of the better aspects of Civil War. They've done more characterization in the tie-ins than they have in the series, like FF and Spiderman.
Civil War has changed the dynamic of heroes and the government. The Registration Act seems like the kind of thing that the government would do if there were super powered people in the real world. I respect that they can take a story about such unrealistic things and maintain a sense of reality.
Looking back, one of the most positive aspects of the House of M was that it moved the Marvel Universe away from a mutant-centric universe. One thing that I appreciate about Civil War is that it put all those characters who weren't mutants in focus.

I don't know. I felt like characterization was one of the weaker aspects of the series as a whole, including the tie-ins. We got a lot of talking heads but not a lot of development.

I'd say the character "development" is what comes next. Civil War was what spurred the development.
Sue leaving Reed. Spiderman being outed. Mary Jane dying(speculation).
Right now these events haven't done anything to develop the characters, but they're big events that, with the exception of

But its definitely going to be Aunt May, I heard on another forum some guy who got a look at the next freindly neighborhood Spiderman (take it for what its worth) also Joe Q has stated he cant kill of Spidey as much as he hated him being married being a widow (I'm not sure what the male version of widow is). And this would be the thrid time May has died.
